seems like i'm getting an ok deal then with the contract. just the size issue with the galaxy ive got to decide on now.... free phone galaxy (higher in value) or cheaper but smaller htc desire s, but for £50! any male s2 users out there who like me rely on putting in jeans pocket most of the time?
Last year I did a contact with orange for s2 galaxy i got
    500 mins
    free 500mb Internet
    unlimited text
    Free phone
For £25 (it is a 24 month contract) vat included in price. I also brought orange care for £7.28 a month. The contact I am on is called canary 26.

    check reseale values
you could sell and buy the desire
also have you checked phones4u,mobiles.co.uk for upgrade offers?
  • absolutely agree with you Custardy. this deal is very good especially when P4U is quidcoing £60 cashback for next 6 days on all anroid phones which includes SGS2 as well, so its

    £36x12=432-60= £372

And its a big thing to be free in 12 months time and ofcourse you can recover a big chunk of money by selling your phone and spend it towards another new flashy phone or if you still like it then go for a cheap sim only deal, as lovely Custardy has mentioned. thanx dear.

your cost is £455 over 2 years
the 12 month is £382,then at that point you are contract free
either sell the phone or drop to sim free,I'm currently on an £8 per month sim free deal. 300 mins, unl texts,500mb data and wifi inclusive

each to their own I simply wouldnt be tied for 2 years

I am due an upgrade from vodaphone - mobiles.co.uk who i bought my last contract from are trying to sell me a new deal - an S2, 24 months, 600 mins (i need this many), unlimited texts and 500 internet for £27.75 a month using cashback. i dont mind doing the cashback but this still seems quite high compared to some others, is it cheaper to go straight to vodaphone i wonder? who were you with custardy to get the 18 month deal?
    thanks for any advice!

No, in my experience you'll get a better deal going thru one of the phone-shop types sites (mobiles.co.uk or phones4U etc). Over the last 2 weeks I've given vodafone every chance to give me a good deal, and they haven't bothered.

I've been sold my O2 tariff & phone by phones4u at £21.50 per month and handset is free. Getting the same deal direct from O2 I would have to pay £80 for the handset.

I don't understand the logic, but I've got the deal I wanted.
I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)
