yeah for sure, however theres also the option of selling the handset and any other deals that come up in a year
it may only be £23 cheaper, but it is cheaper and provides more options
Yea, but its not cheaper is it? Its £23 more expensive than the 2 year contract.

Also, what you going to use the free sim with if you sell your phone?

I think it almost always works out cheaper overall to tie in for longer. The downside is that your phone might be dated by the end of the contract, but that is the compromise for getting a cheaper monthly cost.

    Who is that with?

I'm on O2 sim free contact. 300 mins, unlimited o2 calls, unlimited texts and unlimited data and wifi for £10.21 per month.

I'd never get into a phone contract again and be tied when there are better sim free deals.

Hi I cant find this anywhere on the O2 site and I called them as Im an O2 customer and they cant find a tariff equivalant to this at this price? Please tell us what the tariff call/link??

    Thanks

Im not telling you whats best
simply that there are options to being tied for 2 years
Infact I have used a 2 year deal before to capatalise on cashback to make it cheaper than buying sim free
however in that respect its more like financing a handset

Just letting everyone know, I got the deal I wanted, from O2, via phones4U. Samsung Galaxy S2, 200 mins, unlimited texts, 500mb data £21.50 per month FREE handset . I had wanted to stay with Vodafone, but they weren't going to offer me anything sensible as an upgrade, because my phone was on a contract registered to my business account.

They're also giving me £10 cashback to cover the fact that my Vodafone contract ends in 6 weeks, so can't get my PAC code quite yet. -- I know, I was just impatient to get my hands on a decent phone, and this way I'll be ablke to play and find ut how it works before I start using it for real-life business calls. --

I've wasted sooo much time trying to get the deal I wanted (could afford) for a phone I really fancied. I've always had bog standard phones before, but need to catch up a bit with the technology now.
I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)

your cost is £455 over 2 years
the 12 month is £382,then at that point you are contract free
either sell the phone or drop to sim free,I'm currently on an £8 per month sim free deal. 300 mins, unl texts,500mb data and wifi inclusive

each to their own I simply wouldnt be tied for 2 years

Then take a years contract out next year. Paying more each month. Hmmm

I bought this phone from phones4u, there was no problem. Phone is unlocked which is a bonus. Unfortunately, my £50 from Quidco did not track, but I filed dispute. Regardless terrible opinions about phones4u, I am not sure that the big mobile phone companies are better! I was with Orange for years and I will never deal with them again, even if they are the only mobile provider in UK. Another bonus is that there is no bloatware on this phone (except Samsung) but not from Vodafone. I know that both 3 and Orange put a lot of bloatware if you buy from them directly.
The small annoyance was that after buying phone, I had a phone call each day for 3 days from different companies offering insurance on this phone.
Summarising i am very happy that my deal is only 12 months and I will use phones4u in future, because their phones come unlocked.
