    Bless. :D

I kinda feel a bit sorry for it, all alone like that.:rotfl:

I do the opposite, I sow far too many seeds and then can't bring myself to thin out and throw away. I pot them all on. :o

Mee too I sow far to many!

I have some raspbery cuttings I stole from my mum, says online just to plant them into soil and not get them too wet, anyone any other advice or ideas how to go about it??

Need to move some more wood down the garden today!

PJavlins are still just starting to sprout so they can stay put for a while.

    When did you sow those?
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

Your garden's ace. Loads of room. :) What fruit trees do you have there?

What have I done? My poor marigolds are dying. :(

Seed sown in heated props then transferred to pots and put in front of the window in a bedroom.

The toms, cucs, peas, basil, parsley etc all seem to be doing fine, it's just the marigolds.

Any ideas? Too wet maybe? Draught/cold spot from window?

    Morning all,
Well first things first, well done to England on Saturday, Ireland were truly dismal altogether and England thoroughly deserved the win. Go Wales too!

Now onto gardening, didn't do a whole lot this weekend, too much sport and partying to be done but we did get most of the fence panels in. Just a few left now. Our sleepers arrived yesterday, :j
which means we will be able to get started on the beds. Very exciting although we spent 2 hours last night moving them from the front to the back of the house. they are solid.

And my most exciting news is that I have seeds that have germinated!! :j:j:j really wasn't sure if I was doing it right, still very worried about how much water they need/don't need but so far, one broad bean, two mange tout, one soy bean and 3 french beans are peeping out. Woo HOO.

Feel like I'm ridiculously excited about this, probably checking them more often than my little boy to see if anything else is poking out :rotfl:

Cleaned some pots this morning so that I can plant some herbs, hopefully today. Going for ones that can go straight out now.

Really going to try and get some photos soon so you can see the [STRIKE]mess[/STRIKE], progress we've made (not much), as absolutely LOVE seeing other peoples gardens. :)

Thanks very much. We really like the garden, no idea what most of the plants / shrubs are mind but well wait and see as they grow throuhg the year. The fruit trees are plum and apple, according tot he previous owners. To me the two end ones look like apple and I think the middle is plum as this lookks different (no idea what a plum tree should look like!).

There are loads and loads of pots which have been left behind, so we need to see what each has in it.

The first tasks are probably todig out the riased bed and the gravel area as this is probably what we'll use for veg. Need to have a general tidy up too when we get the time.

Had a bit of an accident with my aubergine seedlings yesterday as I knocked them off the windowsill! managed to rescue most of them, fingers crossed they're not too worse for wear.

Meant to add that I've got a £10 voucher for Thomson and Morgan as well. Not usre what to spend it on. Maybe some more veg seeds although we have quite a lot. I wouldn't mind growing some sweet peas but am not really sure where we would put them. Maybe grow them in a pot in a wigwam type thing. Is it too late to sow sweet peas?

We're wanting to add a herb garden so maybe some little herb plants could be good. Have got somegrowing from weed ndorrs with limited success (chives doing well, other things less so) and my Dad have potted up some rosemary cuttings but we could maybe do with others.

Any ideas / recommendations gratefully recieved.

My sweet pea packet says they can be sown in March or April and that you can direct sow in mild areas in spring. So think you've still lots of time, I absolutely love sweet pea, have been working out how I can get more flowers in the garden. Think going to go with front garden = flowers, ie. no children! Back garden = raised beds with veg, playhouse, lawn for rolling around in, (the children, not me!!):D

Also been meaning to ask if everyone keeps a gardening diary of when they planted what and how much of? And then records later whether that was too much/too little and uses that for next year?

Thinking last night that I probably should do something like this so I know how much to plant next year as I really am clueless this year.

Many thanks Lilyjune. Think I might order some then as they make a lovely show and will add a good deal of colour.
