Right...done it. For you non-football watchers you can look at some veg :rotfl:
    vegpatch19thjune12.jpg
Veg plot-I feel like a real gardener now I have a runner bean frame :)
But they're not looking good :(
    runnerbeans19thjune12.jpg
    potatoesinpots19thjune12.jpg
Potatoes in potatoe pots are doing really well, as are the ones in the ground.
    peaflowers19thjune12.jpg
Peas are flowering now-these were the free birds eye peas.
    outdoortoms19thjune.jpg
    Outdoor toms doing well.
    greenhouse19thjune.jpg
The rather crowded greenhouse-taken MBE's advice and let some of the sideshoots grow on the galina toms.
    wenkshot19thjune12.jpg
Tiny wenks hot yellow chilli-not quite as good as MBE's :rotfl:
    lipstickearlypepper19thjune12.jpg
Lipstick early peppers doing well though
    cucumbers19thjune12.jpg
All 5 cucumbers are still alive too...yet....for now!
    albertoslocoto19thjune12.jpg
Finally the albertos locoto chilli plant that I couldn't get a great shot of. But its about 4 foot wide with 4 flowers on it...they need to be some good chillis at that rate!

Need to do some serious work in the garden but I bet it will be raining again by the weekend-did the lawns tonight which were desperate!

When did I say that then? :p

Fay, your garden looks great.
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

Brilliant pix, it is very depressing seeing how good your veg is compared with my spindly efforts. My only success is broad beans which are doing well. Lost all my sugar snaps, cucumbers, sweetcorn, tomatoes and some brassica. Have sown more seeds which are doing well except the toms which are tiny.

go on the look-out for places like Homebase and B&Q clearance areas. i've picked up trays of strawbs at Homebase for 20p and at B&Q they were chucking out the almost dead ones and asked if i could have them, but they said they would have to charge me a 1p a piece so that I could get them thru' the till. so ended up with about 15 (out of 20 odd) x petunias for a penny, 15 x begonia (out of 20 odd) for a penny, 10 lobelias a penny (out of 20) and 5 geraniums (out of 6) for a penny!

broad beans are doing ok. first batch were sown in feb and are just podding up, and the other batches from Mar are rather short, but still flowering.
french beans are slow going at about 2ft high
resown runners about a week ago, and some are just coming up.
onions and shallots are doing well. garlic should be ready in julyish, but have rust all over them.
potatoes are doing well, with some flowering.
lettuces, carrots, spring onion, beetroot have all been rubbish. most of them didn't germinate from march and have resown twice now!
jerusalem artichokes are doing well at 3' high (v easy to grow btw)
brassicas were started in march and have all been transplanted recently (and a new frame made last sunday- yay!)
spinach is doing okish. last year's overwintered and have 3 crops from them already.
tomatoes were planted out about 2weeks ago, and are okish, tho' they look a bit yellow in the top leaves - don't know what that could be, anyone know? too much potash in the virgin soil?
rasps are doing well i guess. lots of them suckered from last year's new canes and freegled lots away. had to stake the fruiting ones as they were getting a bit floppy.
    goosegogs - heavily laden
    blueberries - ditto
red or blackcurrant - not sure, haven't noticed any fruit on them.

so all in all, ok, but this time last year, was eating broad beans, mange tout, lettuces and beetroot constantly!

this is my 2nd year on the lotti, so i think, i should get a decent crop from it, tho' not as much as last year's as had was great with gluts of everything.

c'mon summer, get on with it!!!

Yes really :) My patch is decidedly bare this year so far, your's looks fantastic :)
Nothing I have is better than yours and most look far behind. :D

So now you can tell us how you do it ;)

Oh I'm really pleased you all think my little plot looks good. Things seemed better last year and I thought it was beginners luck-I read how to do everything last year and followed things (especially chilli growing) to the letter; and I didn't this year so also thought it could be that. But now I am thinking perhaps this year isn't so bad! MBE-I'm sure it was you who advised that the galina often form fruits on the side shoots-way back in this thread when I first said I was growing the galina. But if it wasn't you then thank you to whoever it was because they do indeed have flowers/fruit trusses on them!My runners were left in the greenhouse for far too long and seem really thin and spindly to me-the resident slug population has also started attacking them. The nemotodes should be here soon and I've ordered copper rings this morning-I will prevent them eating my plants. I planted petunia seeds this year (grew really well last year) but these were a fancy one from a new range (can't remember the name) and only 6 came up. I planted 4 our last week and now have 4 stumps :( The other two are in the green house and I am going to pot them on and then put them out with copper round them grrrrlotus-I wish I knew how I had done it (whatever it is). Most of my seeds were from the real seed company, I used seed compost to start and potted on at probably not the right times. Most things were left in the house (toms) far too long or the greenhouse...planted out only for the weather to turn back to autumn. So I am as shocked as anyone that you all think its doing well! Dogstarheaven-some pics for us all to look at?I'm going to get the OH to take some pics of the garden so you can all see what else I have to contend with, because its not just my veg patch I have to tend to-hence a lot of things getting left too long. I take pics on my phone, hence the poor quality.Weather today says that after today our weather is going to be terrible again. Looking at a two week forcase-rain every day :(

At the risk of upsetting Drea, my tomatoes, against the fence, are absolutely loaded with fruit - maybe because I haven`t been pulling any bits off - not even the bits I should have pulled off!

    Show off! :D

Fay - yours looks fantastic :T

Re-potted my peppers and stuck them in the blowaway, they seem much happier today!
Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.
