I've brought my pepper inside. I daren't risk it. I'm going to make nice little cloches from plastic bottles to put over the plants that are outside tomorrow.
I wonder whether I need to invest in a greenhouse. Problem is that I literally have nowhere (and I mean nowhere) to put it. Gah.0 -

Why? You haven't got to worry until Friday or Saturday...If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
And it will have changed by then anyway. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0

It's really cold here today. Overcast, can't see the hills for the mist.
My tomatoes have perked up and they look happy for the first time since they got planted.
Stupid, awkward, obstreperous green items! Don't they know they are supposed to like the sun?!
Many of them have almost pure white leaves now but I'm told that new foliage should grow and once I see new growth, I can take off the white leaves. Although they look all but dead, they are still doing something for the plant so I shouldn't strip them just yet. This also shouldn't affect the actual tomatoes.
Apparently the white is because the sun has bleached them as they couldn't handle all the direct sun. The plant makes chlorophyll (green) to catch the light. If there's too much light, it dumps the chlorophyll, hence losing it's colour. (Got that bit from another site.)
Definitely going to have to get the fleece out though. Incredible weather. Amazing how it can go from blistering heat to chilly jumper weather within 24 hours.Herman - MP for all!0 -
Picked up a set from Tesco including propagator, compost and 3 packs of seeds (chillies, peppers and courgettes) for £1.25 because they should have been sowed by now. So I'm hoping it isn't too late for them.
Still scorching in Cardiff!Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -

You might as well hang on to the chillies and peppers until next year - they wanted sowing in about February.
I picked up some onion sets in Wilkinsons yesterday. It's a bit late for them but I thought it was worth a punt, even if I only get a few small onions. They were 5p. :money:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

Oops, too late. Oh well, will see if anything comes of them.I hope you burn your bum you big show off!
(Not really.)
Will go have a wander to Tesco later just in case I have similar luck.
Thankfully I got over the burn on my legs and stopped hobbling like an old woman! There was only one set left in Tesco after I bought mine but plenty seeds for pennies tooJust because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
