I need to pot on my peppers, but I have no size 3' pots left so I'm gunna have to just use a bigger pot and put two in there at opposite sides.
Beetroot needs sowing this week and peas and probably a million other things.Still deweeding the borders, hopefully I can get an hour done today when the babies have their nap.
I might have a peak at those pesky parsnips, doubt they will have done anything, sure they are just being stubborn cos I don't talk to them like I do with my Competiton Carrots.Debt Free Date:10/09/2007 :j :money:0 -
gah - don't know what to do. My sweet peas and courgettes have outgrown their little toilet roll holders. There are 2 in each and are starting to look overcrowded.
The weather up here is shocking so I can't plant them out.
I don't have a greenhouse
I have no more space to repot them and put them on a windowsill
What shall I do?!0 -
Put them in a bigger pot.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0

I have put my Marigolds and some of the hearbs outside, needed to generate some space. Needs must.
My cucumbers are still doing badly they seem to grow nicely then get leggy but set more leaves. Just tried to repot one, the roots had rotted away must have been too wet. Still I only need 2 so got a few space to loose.
Also got my veg patch weeded, long cutivator so avoid standing on the soil. Please can we have some sun down here?Save £12k in 25 No 49

Getting fed up with the weather ~ it's grey & windy with yet more rain forecast
I really want to sow my salad leaves, radish & spring onions & put my potatoes in, but it's soooo windy here & our garden is so exposed I know that the pots would end up flying around the garden
Hope everyone else is having more luck growing their veggies'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -
It's an absolutely beautiful day here, clear blue skies, bright sunshine.
BUT.....it's freezing. Frost was lying thick overnight.
I suspect it will be another 4 weeks before I can think about planting out.
Problem is, because I'm so bored waiting to 'garden', I keep sowing new seeds indoors just to keep me going. Then of course that makes a problems for where the seedlings will go once they've sprouted. My porch is boringly normal.........it has no tardis like tendencies.
My tomato plants have that distinctive tomato plant smell. My porch is becoming the fruit & veg equivalent of a crack den. :rotfl:Herman - MP for all!0 -
Blue skies & sunshine, what are they again??
We haven't had frost for a while, just loads & loads of rain
I haven't done any more sowing, I could probably find space on windowsills but I've lost heart a bit because of the lack of sunOur house is not that warm either & I think that's stopped some seeds from germinating. I need sunshine, gimme some sun!! :rotfl:

Well no chance of getting in the garden today for us-strong winds and lashing rain. It's like a winters day here. It was freezing cold yesterday so only managed an hour outside-tied in my clematis as they are starting to become triffid like, tidied a few bits up, potted on nastirsiums (sp?) and sowed some more cucumbers-the last lot did nothing so now have more seeds by the aga!
I really need to get the new step on my shed painted but have no idea when this will get done. The veg patch seems to be doing well but really needs weeding but I have no chance in this. French beans are up in the greenhouse-I didn't think they were going to germinate. The early galina toms in the house have quite a few fruits forming now and one plant is about 4 foot highNo signs of them being able to go out into the greenhouse though!
I really really hope we get some warmer weather soon0 -
Flippin weather - we did paper pots/chitting in shredded newspaper/more paper pots all last week and the students will be fed up of indoors activities at this rate. It's ghastly out there. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0

I ran out of pots weeks ago - paper pots is the answer.
Use this design, with A5 paper and you can fit 12 pots to each half sized seed tray when they are filled with compost.
Use recycled printer paper and make the folds really crisp and you get a fantastic pot that is strong enough to hold it's own alone, but still disintegrates when planted out or potted on.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0
