That's a shame, diddly, hope you manage to salvage something tomorrow
Weather forecast is supposed to be better tomorrow ~ well it can't be much worse than today ~ my back garden is flooded again
mbe, sounds like you had a good trip'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -
O woe is me! My mini greenhouse has blown over and spilled all my seedlings, pots and other paraphinalia all over the garden. Weather is 'orrible so I have tried to salvage what I can and have left the rest. Is it gonna be nicer tomorrow??????
Sorry to hear that. Make sure you get all the seedlings you can - you might get cold and wet doing it but you are waterproof and will warm up again.

Well gardening gone out of window at the moment due to a leaking pipe under the bath. Was without water for a few days last week but got it fixed. Tonight the leak returned from another joint, due to old pipe work that is discontinued and the joints are a pain to fit tight. Turned into a waterfall and have just finished cleaning up the kitchen ceiling that collapsed. Going to have to bite the bullet and replace old pipework with new. Good job i have a lovely plummer in the family, but it might have to be an insurance job.
Cat's are most put out as their baskets got soaked. No one got hurt and the cooker and pot sink escaped without a scratch so counting my blessings. Made a heck of a noise when the ceiling came down though.Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away. – Hilary Cooper

Poor furball......that's not nice. Have a dodgy looking hug:grouphug:
First time since March I've woken up to blue skies with a big yellow thing that feels warm:j Shame tomorrows another chuck down day:( but not thinking about that now.
Off to get some compost, I have gardening to do today, anything else is just going to have to wait.
I'm growing BNS too MBE:D did try last year but the slugs/snails went right through the main stem after 1 squash had just started to grow and it sprawled like mad before that, so this year I've chosen a more compact one and will be on guard for the little s*ds.
Best get a wiggle on in case the big yellow thing vanishes!0 -
I bought some horseradish, which I've been after for a while. It can be a bit invasive, so I've stuck it behind the greenhouse with the comfrey. I wonder which is tougher?
They'll have to fight it out when they meet. The comfrey's got a good head start though. I hope the horseradish will be ok there - there's not really anywhere else it can go other than a pot.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
I bought some asparagus, because it was BOGOF, so I got 4 crowns for about £2.50. Two Gijnlim and two Pacific Purple. The trouble is it needs a permanent bed. This means the best place for it is next to the rhubarb and gooseberry. These are permanent features so it would mean the whole bed would be taken up by things that aren't going to move, so I wouldn't have to do anything further to it, or worry about rotating crops there.
Just one small problem:
I've planted all my beetroot there.I feel a mass transplant session coming on this afternoon.

I have horsetail:
and the others:
I could do with the water level dropping a bit! I'll have to repot most of these, as they're not heavy enough to be stable when they're submerged. If I use some of the kidney-shaped planters then there'll be room for a few stones to keep the pots down.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Oh my god, I'm in shock. It isnt raining! Might actually manage to sort out my chillies and lettuce today. Very very windy though.Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0

My mate's giving me an iris, and I have another water lily to pick up from a freecycler sometime today. I've got to go and get some aquatic compost and some pots first. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0

Annie, this is my squash:
It suffered a wee bit of transit damage.Do you think it'll be ok? I will make sure it is well protected against slugs.
