They seem to work as well. I might be wrong though. It's really just to keep the wind off tender seedlings.

Thanks for my replies! I think I may have two parsnips germinating,well something is coming through the soil anyway,I shall be checking tomorrow to see if anymore decide to show their presence.

My Carrots seem to be doing nothing at all,they just have the long seed leaves but none of the raggy/shaped leaves yet.Hurry up carrots,I expect 10 foot carrots by the end of the week!

I've got about 7 that have grown-up leaves.

Pah,I might have to talk to them more and make more verbal threats to hurry them along. Are any of your Parsnips throught yet? Those are devilishly slow to germinate.They are on their last week before I plant something else in them buckets,I expect more than 2 Parsnips out of a packet of seeds.

I managed to get my chilli plants repotted yesterday before it started raining again. The random garlic clove I planted actually has a shoot coming out of the soil now :rotfl: didn't expect that to come of anything.

Ooooo that reminds me I had a bulb of garlic in the fridge cos I read on here about putting in the fridge or summit.It's probably hidden behind the manky mustard and a jar of equally manky olives.Might be fit for the bin by now,been there ages.

Not worth planting now I don't think. Should be in before Christmas like mine wasn't. You could always make a garlic and chilli spray to keep the aphids at bay though.

No. Too cold and wet. The seeds have probably all rotted by now.

I have onions. Big green onion leaves. The cold and frost doesn't appear to have bothered them.

I put my spring onions out and sowed more carrot seeds outside. I'm fed up waiting for gardening weather to start.

I'm not putting my toms, cucs or peppers out yet though.

I'm strangely fed up today. I thought a stint in the sun (yes we had some) would help but nope.

I really want to move to Australia. I think I need heat. :undecided

PVC one. It happens. I'm philosophical about it all. Haven't had time to clear it up yet, but none of the plants are salvageable. I'm fairly sure that the frame & shelves are ok.

I'll be replanting thursday & friday.

Possibly the worst 2 things are:

I did move everything out the house into the greenhouse saturday morning...
I'm now going to plant loads of seeds & then moan for 5 weeks about nothing growing! I've already been through that stage!:eek:

Yeah, I am actually a bit miffed about that. I'd have really enjoyed it, & rarely (if ever) win anything me. Last thing I won was a bottle of champagne. I was 13 at the time so they refused to give me the prize!:( I'd definitely have used it...
