Thanks for all the kind messages
It still seems a bit abstract as the cheque has not been paid as yet, and there is still a silly balance in our current account  (we wouldn't normally leave it there!). C&G don't seem to be very quick at anything, or up to date - they can't even take a card payment at a branch, and as for internet banking, well... :rotfl:
Once it has been paid, I will need to do a savings stock take, as we have had a spendy few months (quite apart from paying off the mortgage :rotfl:), having had the roof done, helped DGS1 pay for his driving lessons etc.
I am still in moneysaving mode (THAT won't change ), and no holidays or new cars planned - I will still cook at home, take packed lunches to work, grow vegetables in the garden, as I have always done those things. Having said that, I do secretly yearn for a camper van though ), and no holidays or new cars planned - I will still cook at home, take packed lunches to work, grow vegetables in the garden, as I have always done those things. And I did get my hair done today, and went to a better salon and OH renewed his golf club membership which cost almost exactly 10 x as much  and OH renewed his golf club membership which cost almost exactly 10 x as much
A new plan / goal is called for I think! I will have to think on that one
Oh well, off for a bath I think, as OH is in the grip of a new project and has neglected to light the woodstove, and I have to get the silly o'clock train to a meeting tomorrow 0 0
