Very lazily sitting here in my dressing gown

Must get up off behind and shower, wash grotty hair and get dressed in a minute.
OH has gone to help DD2 to put up a fence in her garden - I will pop over later, but want to do a few things here first:
Investigate German sourdough cake thingy and see if still alive, as I have sadly neglected it a bit this week. If it is, I will make up a cake
Investigate beans, tomatoes, strawberries, courgettes in the garden to see if anything needs picking, and see if any of the pots or hanging baskets need watering and feeding.
A bit of a tidy up
Little bit of shopping needed before I make the cake as I am missing some ingredients.
Might check out the charity shops while out - and buy a new umbrella as OH has lost mine
Put on a load of washing
Ring DD1 later
Pottering about sort of day - my favourite kind

Enjoy your pottering....
Your home growns seem to be proliferative. We only got marrows and onions this year.MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -
Thanks for letting me know, may have them with dinner tomorrow

OH and his friend sorted DD2's fencing

Rescued the German sourdough stuff, and baked a cake with it
Found some more beans, a couple of cherry tomatoes, and a few strawberries. Froze some beans for another time, left some in the fridge for tomorrow
Wandered round charity / junk shops in town, bought a book for OH and a cute ceramic cow coathook. Spent £7 on both
Did some of the food shopping, at L;dl, which I don't go to much, but was attracted by the £1.49 turkey steaks offer. As I was walking, and pulling my shopping trolley, I stopped when trolley was full (it isn't big). I did only buy 1 pack of turkey steaks though!
Still need fruit and a couple of other bits - Mr S or Mr W tomorrow perhaps
Watched a bit of the paralympics and was amazed (and a bit tearful
). I am not a sport fan by any means, but they are incredible :j
As DD2 fed her dad, I don't have to
Sandwiches or toast only for evening meal
And sourdough apple / raisin cake of course

Went car booting this morning and got a vintage metal plant stand - just a little one for £2 :j
I have a weakness at the moment for 'old' garden things - probably because I have already filled the house up so the garden is the only space left :rotfl:
Also got a few bits of shopping from Mr S, fruit, bread, dog food etc that I didn't get in Lidl's yesterday.
Pork chops for supper tonight, so minimal cooking for a Sunday.
Now what I ought to do now is to get the shallots I grew in the garden ready for pickling .... not my favourite job
There aren't many though, and it would make a nice jar of pickled onions ready for Christmas.... 0 -

I love pickling!!! I used to do it with my mom every year, brings back some nice memories. Every year i buy a sack of pickling onions and a sack of normal onions and turn them into goodies!! Onion chutney and pickled onions for Xmas, yummy!! :drool:Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
