I have heard it all now.
There are some people (who like to keep up with the proverbial Jones) I work with who wouldnt be seen dead in the local lidl, Aldi stores.
However, since the credit crunch belst have had to be tightened, sooo
They now drive into the next county which has opened an Aldi store and use that so as not to be seen.

Priceless

:rotfl: I've heard it all now. Some people don't have the brains they're born with
. Especially if they tell people what they are doing, kind of defeats the object :rotfl:
BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
my SIL wont set foot in Aldi, Lidl, Asda, Tesco or Morrisons - she will condescend to a Sainsbury shop - but mostly shops in M&S. sadly, she thinks that Aldi and Lidl must have substandard food - and when I tell her that its equal or better in quality than most supermarkets, she doesnt believe me! but then I do call her Princess Ann! (behind her back that is).
btw - did an Aldi shop today - and the car park was full of very nice, fairly new cars!0 -
ive noticed recently that the carpark of aldi has some nice cars in it...i love aldionwards and upwards0

I love Aldi too - their fruit and vegetables are excellent quality at great prices. :j
I can't quite fathom the sort of snobbery that means people won't shop at Aldi and Lidl. Bonkers behavour!Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
That just made me lol. If they're seen surely it's by other people shopping in Aldi. Personally I tell everyone when I get a bargain I just can't keep my mouth shut.0

I like seeing the folk who put their Aldi shop into M&S bags.
My only gripe with Aldi is the fact that some of the checkout folk throw the shopping at you.0 -
I very rarely shop at Aldi or Lidl and it has nothing to do with snobbery, it's just that they aren't close enough, it's a bit of a drive to get to either of them, otherwise I would be there alot of the time.
I remember when Aldi first opened, reading somewhere that the cashiers were the most highly paid, compared to other supermarkets, as they had to know all the prices of all the items they sold in the shop. Do you all remember they used to key in all the prices when you went to pay. Items are scanned in now.0
