I did make bread in the slow cooker, but I got impatient and took it out too soon
it failed. There's loads of recipes for it online though. The problem you get however is that the outside goes really crispy. I might try experimenting and let you know the outcome

C0$tco have a decent offer on washing powder at the moment - Buy Persil Bio/Non Bio/Colour (100 wash) or Persil 2 in 1 (90 wash) and get a free 5 litre Comfort Pure or Comfort Sunshine fabric conditioner. The washing powder is on offer at £12.36 inc vat.
I did however, get the dishwasher tablets-2x90 tabs for just on £12.
Got the vanish oxi 1.5kg's for £6.89-usual price at MrT=£12
Britax filter cartridges £13.99 for 6-usual price at Arg0s=£15.99 for 3.
And Dove soap bars 12 for 5.69 work out at 47p/bar where Mr T's works out to 68p per bar.
I also got two Gigapacks of nappies for the babies and while not really different in prive from SM's,it is nice that we could do with only storing 2 boxes as opposed to 4.
DH wasnt keen initially but we found our way into the booze section he found some fancy beers that worked out to just a pound a bottle and asked if he could have them-I did giggle when he added "Ill use my own pocket money":rotfl:
We didnt really get to browse because the children had already had enough in !ikea so Ill go back after half term and have a wander through:)
DH brought home a lovely cupboard from work yesterday too as they are moving and flogging loads of the furniture, so I am going to move all my cake decorating kit into it from the bookshelf which currently houses it-and then we'll move the bookshelf t the garage for me to store my second purse shopping on.
So if anyone has any idea where to start looking for proper airtight containers Id be very grateful.Id love to buy stuff like sugar and flour in bigger quantities but am nervous of storing them in the garage (as well as DW tabs and washing powder) lest they get damp.0 -

My DD went to a big Asda with her boyfriend and came home with some reduced items, which was SO sweet of her to do
so I gave her the £20 it cost her out of SP.
Of course it was unplanned expense and not what I would have bought but I didnt think she had listened to my SP talk, so I was really chuffed with her thoughtfulness..........even if SP is now looking very skinny :rotfl:
I also owe SP plenty for stuff I have used but dont have any change, so will try and settle up tomorrow when I have been to the bank.0 -
My turn with the sausages today! Got 4 packs of Quorn ones whoopsied at Mr M from £2.10 to 49p - sorry that's no use to anyone else, just showing off :rotfl:
NOTHING in 2nd purse now 'cause I just keep seeing bargains! Can't imagine ever having enough in 2nd purse to pay into a 3rd purse. My stockpile nearly adds up to £600 though.0 -
Wow everyone is doing so well
£600 worth of stock is AmAzing!!! mumwithamission
I'm going to bite the bullet and order the suma oats today, I could do with eating more flapjack and less chocolate. I completely forgot where the syrup offer was though, and hated my shop in Mr T yesterday as I kept getting really annoyed with all the shouting offers which aren't real offers. I.e. pringles now half price @ £1.24 when they were £1 each when I bought them at xmas, they really do think we're stupid eugh.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

With a £600 stockpile you will have, don't worry on that count. That £600 is going right in your 2nd and 3rd Purse and not to the SM. And £600 less you need to buy on your normal grocery shop. Well done thats a great start to your wee shop.
I had a PM recently about making butter, I noticed my post had been lost when it got merged with other posts, I thought you all might want to see it given the price of butter, so keep your eyes peeled for reduced cream.
HOW TO MAKE BUTTER
I made 5 batches of butter from 5 x 600 ml tubs of Double Cream I got reduced for 20p each. 4KG butter and 1 Litre of Buttermilk £1
It took approximately 10 min to make each batch. One tub at a time.
Add a little salt if you like salted butter.
Whip the cream until it peaks , place the whipped cream in a tupperware tub, it works best if the cream half fills the container, (one with a tight fitting lid).
Now all you do is shunt the container from one hand to the other, moving the contents from side to side as you go, after a while the butter begins to form and it releases the buttermilk. Open the container and have a wee taste, if its too soft , shunt it a little more, pour off the buttermilk into a container, put the butter into a bowl of cold water and gently squeeze to release as much of the buttermilk as possible, change the water a few times until it is clear. Transfer the butter onto a board and shape to fit the container your storing it in, then turn the board over and pop in the butter in the fridge. I used the ones from Home Bargains 5 for 79p.
From the 5 x 600 ml tubs I also got 1 Litre of buttermilk, which I froze most of for making scones.
I made a batch of scones using the first lot of butter I made with some of the buttermilk, absolutely yummy!
Easy to make, great fun! And ... You can freeze it.
If anyone wants the scone recipe I'd be happy to post it.
You don't often see reduced butter, but you can always find reduced cream.
I still have more Superfoods to type up, had wee granddaugher for the weekend , so normal service will resume soon.1st Purse £114.19 Monthly GB:rotfl::j:wave::j:rotfl:
