DD2 was breast feeding, I think he thought it was hers lol. I just told him he was banned from throwing anything else out LOL.
I can't really complain, since he retired he has developed a passion for cleaning, he thinks he's helping lol.
He used to throw pots of stock out thinking it was dirty water, and gravy for our roasts. He's had three ticking offs in the last few weeks, at least he came and told me this time.
Its not only in the kitchen you've got to watch him, I asked him to put 4.5 tog duvets on the beds with the 9.0 tog ones, he thought he was to change them, he came and told me they were too thin and he had put them in the bin as they were rubbish, 'BRAND NEW DUVETS' luckily he had put them in black bags by the back door. He also had an annoying habit of throwing out plastic food containers. I ended up getting pyrex ones with plastic lids.1st Purse £114.19 Monthly GB:rotfl::j:wave::j:rotfl:

Whoever it was that has been on the lookout for choc buttons...I forget who eep... have you thought about making your own? Melt chocolate, pour into tube, squeeze out onto parchment and let set. If you can bulk buy the choc bars, this should reduce to under 40p for 40g
It was me Kerri,I used to-but as Im a cake decorator prefer to stay out of the kitchen when Im working and with himself at school, the 18 month old and the 1 month old whos breastfeeding-I have my hands rather full.Mrs_Addicted_to_Spending wrote: »Polkadot - Mr L have 81% cocoa chocolate at 99p for a 125g bar and it tastes very nice - nom, nom!

Thanks kerri_dfw and bunbun (good to see you over here hun) I think i just need to keep my nose to the ground on offers. I have noticed that Mr M have the Ribena 1lt all varieties at £1.38 (half price). This is the only one my daughter likes so we will stock up on a few of the sugar free ones.
Also here some offers of fruit and veg 30p at Mr M. Not sure if these are good offers or not though as I don't buy the veg in this house lol

Hi everyone
Been very quiet on the 2nd purse front, no offers about at the min but ive got plenty of stock in. Ive decided no sweets, crisps or choccie will be included but i am including biscuits and cereal bars. So far ive only put £30 in my 2nd purse but ive got £19 in there at the min but ive got about £50 to £60 worth of stock. My main purchases seem to be cereal, beans, loo roll, cheese and alpen bars. Roll on the next few weeks when the SM's put some more offers on for pay day. Just in the process of getting a list together with the things that i want to stock up on.March 2014 Grocery challenge £250.000 -

Lol Kerri has all the beans, you have all the ice cream. I can't remember who it was that had all the loo rolls?I am totally amazed, so is my dh, since starting this at the beginning of this month, we have eaten well and I still have £248 left in my bank until payday! This has never ever happened ever in 24 years!! My second purse in continually in use and I will soon be able to move some over to 3rd purse... Just love it!!!
:T
Well done Annie :T
Can't wait til payday on Wednesday so I can add my monthly tenner to 2nd purse then It'll be up to nearly 25 quid and I can go out bargain hunting again0 -
Im kicking myself for not remembering to share this: http://www.nisbets.co.uk
I use them for my catering packaging, have often looked at their chemicals etc and thought I wish I could bulk buy. For example:http://www.nisbets.co.uk/Domestos-Professional-Original-Bleach/CC119/ProductDetail.raction
20L of Domestos for £31.96.There are loads of other bits so Im just about to do a "second purse test run shop" on some of the smaller quantities on stuff like the oven cleaner. They are intended for food businesses so Im willing to bet they'll be fab quality.
Oh and free delivery to mainland UK on all orders. They are also on Rainforest so I wonder if those of you who get Rainforest vouchers could use them on this?
ETA: I just noticed that one of the water filters we bought on Saturday had been used (packet on the counter) so I phoned DH to ask if he had used 1 or 2 as we have the water jug and the kettle. While I was on the phone I mentioned the prices of stuff like DW detergent, rinseaid and washing up liquid...his response:" yes but babe it'll take us months to get through that much washing up liquid."I explained again that it was the whole point of this exercise-buying 5L of washing up liquid for £6, storing it in the garage (Polkadot Palace) and decanting into smaller packaging for indoors is the way to go.I think he's still trying to get his head around it.0 -
Thats a wise move p-pincher, especially in the early stages of the 2nd Purse, if you can stock up on the basics first it will get your purse well established. Planning is the key to success. (Initially try and go for things you use a lot of, work out how many of each thing you use in say 3 months.) That way you will notice the difference in what you spend on your weekly shop.
If you have a list of say 50 items and you have it with you when you shop, separate them into categories, and mark how many of each thing you buy. Use by date etc. Eventually you will get everything on your list, I've put odd things on mine , and got them.
The secret is NOT to panic buy to get it going, keep feeding the purse its £10 and pay for your purchases, and when the offers you do want come up you will have the money to pay for them.
I couldn't help but smile when I read mumwithamission's post about buying all the Cheerios, thats perfect 2nd pursing, for in a few weeks time the price will be back up and because it is something her family eat all the time, she in one swoop has freed up £40- £50 of her grocery budget. If you do that with everything, then it wont be long until you are benefiting from the true value of the system. It will feel as though the money is going round and round to start with, thats because it is, every penny is working for you.
I've been working on my own Feb ins and outs and when I post it at the end of the month you will all see where I'm taking you.
You are all doing so well.1st Purse £114.19 Monthly GB:rotfl::j:wave::j:rotfl:

afternoon all
Gutted I missed that advantage card points thing with the mascara! Had finished by the time i finally got 5 mins to look!
Both the little kids have had chicken pox in this house for last few weeks so have been keeping up with posts (just) but haven't had much time to post!
I've not really picked anything else up since the beginning of the month. I think next month i will do an order with DR & AF again I find i get the best bargains on there (although understand not everyone feels comfortable using OOD stuff) and will continue building up my stocks that way
When i compare SM prices to what i've been paying on line I am seriously shocked at the prices (even some of the so-called offers/reductions/sales!) I can't believe i used to just go to a random SM (which ever i fancied on the day lol) and spend £100+ without even looking for bargains  truly feel shocked at myself now!
I've ordered some ink for my printer which has sat in the cupboard for the last goodness-knows-howlong so i can start printing coupons *yay* only been meaning to do this for ummmmmmmmm about 6 months LOL
Oooooooooooooooh and my delivery for my 100 snickers/mars bars is due for delivery soon *does a happy dance*

I bought 7 bottles of EV olive oil in Mr M's the other week when they were half price (that's all they had left on the shelve) and stored them in the garage. Went in today to get something from MunniMart and notice that it has frozen and looks rather 'odd' - anyone know if it'll be okay once its brought into the warm? Hope so, otherwise that'll be a lot of money that has been wasted!!
Being completely selfish sorry:o, but glad that the SM's don't have any offers on at the moment, as my 2nd purse is owed nearly £70 so don't really want to be forced into buying any more at the moment til end of month when new grocery budget starts and I am then working entirely in cash:TWhen you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling.
