Molasses
Contains more calcium than milk, more iron than eggs 3 mg in 1 tablespoon. Rich in B vitamins and very high in potassium. It has a very powerful flavour (good added to homemade bread). Don’t eat straight from the spoon or your teeth will fall out LOL.
Nettles
Are rich in minerals and blood purifying power. Loaded with iron, good for fatigue. And helpful for skin conditions. Only eat young shoots in spring, use gloves to gather. Wash carefully and cook like spinach. Good in vegetable soup.
Nuts
Are densely packed with nutrients. Brazil nuts are rich in protein B1 and magnesium, friends of the nervous system. Hazelnuts are low in fat, chestnuts much starchier than other nuts. Peanuts have iron and protein. Pine nuts have the highest protein of any nut. All nuts can go rancid quickly, so eat them fresh when possible , store in airtight tins.
Oats
Highly nutritious 100g has 12g of protein. They contain polyunsaturated fats some vitamin E loads of B complex. Spectacularly high in calcium, potassium and magnesium, and lots of silicon for healthy arterial walls. Its easily digested soothing the stomach and intestines. Great for lowering cholesterol and regulating blood fats, it removes bile acids that would otherwise become cholesterol. Good for diabetics.
Have you ever noticed how ‘clean’ a pot is after removing porridge thats sat in it for a while? Well that’s what it does to your insides.
Olive oil
Is a food medicine. Regular olive oil eaters have more high- density lipoproteins, the tiny fat -plus- protein globules that scour excess cholesterol out of the bloodstream and into your liver.
It also promotes intestinal peristalsis - the rhythmic movement that carry food on the journey through your body. Choose extra virgin if you can afford it, your body will love it.
Still a lot more to come, hope I'm not boring you all:)1st Purse £114.19 Monthly GB:rotfl::j:wave::j:rotfl:
2nd Purse ££100Fridge Freezer £300 3rd Purse /£290.940 -
I've just 'borrowed' £18.51 from my third purse to get 4 500ml bottles of Safflower oil - necessary as my grocery budget can't take the stockpile hit (had to order on-line, and postage made it extortionate if I only order 1) and I don't have a second purse to do this kind of shopping. I'll only be paying back at cost price (which I've tweaked to spread the postage across all items on the order) when I need a bottle though. I imagine I'll be buying one back this month, but after that it depends on how many 'cholesterol friendly' baking sessions I have (just one batch of oatmeal and raisin cookies uses 120ml !! but as that makes 30 cookies I think I'll be trying to remember to do them a half batch at a time
) - this seems to be the thing to use instead of butter/margarine looking at all the baking recipes, and there are a few in the low-cholesterol cookbook I really, really want to try (picking up the rest of the ingredients in Mr T later if I don't already have them in the house).
I'm also likely to be borrowing more from the third purse to help with my Mr T shop, as I've got a few items on the list I don't anticipate needing/starting this month (need to spend £70 to use my £10 off voucher, don't need that much 'long life' stuff for the rest of this month, and only have £76.45 left of this months grocery budget which has to cover another 2 weeks worth of milk, fruit and veg as well)Cheryl0 -

Hmm...that does seem quite confusing. Why don't you start afresh? Afterall you're only owing yourself money anyway. So cancel off the "owed amount" to the second purse and just have what you owe your c/c. Then next month when the c/c is cleared you can start with the 2nd purse. I know it might seem a bit of a downer to start with, but if it helps you get less in a muddle then it's worth it I think
Then next month keep a track of what you have bought from the shops, this is money the 2nd purse owes your 1st purse (if you haven't anything in your 2nd purse). Then also keep a track of what the 1st purse owes the 2nd, so for things bought from MunniMarket.
At the beginning of next month just move money around so all the balances equal outso if your 2nd purse owed the 1st purse £15, but the 1st purse owed the 2nd purse £10, then your 1st purse would need the first £5 from the 2nd.
Yes thanks kerri, think that's what I'll have to do! I did say in an earlier post that I wouldn't get too het up about the 2nd purse and understanding it until next payday, but I am too impatient to wait til then. Keep going over it in my brain, but hasn't sunk in yet and I just get myself more confused :oAm sure tho that when I actually sit down and do the maths when I have the money back in my account, it'll all slot into place (fingers crossed)When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying!:rotfl:

I'm sure you'll be fine as soon as you start properly! :T
I read Motherships threads loads of times before Kerri started this thread and just couldnt "get it" but as soon as I actually started, I was fine0 -
Things are a little tight in Fresian Towers....
I get paid on the 20th, and have £35 in the grocery purse (Well, £40, but I owe the second purse £5 due to having no change) I would have more money, but had to buy razorblades yesterday and couldn't believe how expensive they're getting. Will have to be on the lookout for a megaglitch sometime in the future :rotfl:
This morning I dyed my hair, which is why I owe the second purse £5. I managed to get my normal hairdye for £2.49 not long ago, and this is the first one I used. Normally it's £4.49
Still, there's only 10 days till payday, the freezer is full and the cupboards don't look too bad. I need to do a wee stocktake today and head to Aldi tomorrow to get essentials like cat litter and fresh fruit/veg. Mr Fresian is away for a couple of weeks as of Tuesday, so that will at least keep the food budget down0 -
I've just been to A$da and they have Lyle's Golden Syrup squeezy bottles 2 for £1 usually £1.38 each so I bought 4 from my purse. Useful for baking and also my son has a squirt on his porrdge for breakfast.I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!0

Aww - I just noticed the quote in your signature and I like it!I stumbled across one yesterday that's I'd written down ages ago:
"Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time."
I think these musings are so relevant to those of us trying to clear debt, reduce spending, live frugally, etc. :T
Keep at it ladies and gents:jDebt Free By Xmas 2013 #010 £16,660.26/£16,660.26 100% paid, DFD 25/06/13!:j0
