All I managed to get last night was WW frozen puddings in Tesco
They were selling at two for £2, but I had a coupon for 40p off, so I got four individual puddings for 40p each. I'm selling them back at 75p each (that should stop me eating the whole lot before Monday

I will owe my 2nd Purse a fair bit this month, as we have been eating out of the freezer. But the beauty of it is, when I transfer the money at the end of the month I will STILL have it LOL. This is the LOWEST my purses have had in them for many a year, well I did transfer the whole contents of the 3rd Purse into my savings at the beginning of the challenge
I'm loving this thread Kerry, there are so many lovely folk on it and getting into the spirit of it. Thank you again for starting it and keeping it going. xx
:T Perfect summing up Mothership!! And a light bulb just appeared over my head as I said "oh yes......:D" :T
I was sitting here thinking I owe the Second Purse for the £10 I borrowed and the bargains I got yesterday from the Coop and feeling in debt and guilty.........
Completely ignoring the fact that I *AM* the Second Purse!! :rotfl:0 -
Next payday can't come quick enough so that I am completely away from paying for my groceries with the cc and using only cash. The thing is I owe £42.98 from my 1st purse and my 2nd purse is minus £43.40, but I owe the credit card £26.78 (which in effect is my 2nd purse at the moment), so am getting all confused and not sure where I stand in all of this - I mean, am I up or am I down?:o
Sorry but still waiting for the light to come on - why don't I just get it?:mad::mad:When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying!:rotfl:

This is the kind of thing I look for, for my shop Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara £7.99 on 3 for 2 at B@@ts total cost £15.98. You get £15.00 worth of points back so the 3 mascaras cost you 98p.
I bought 9 x3 for me and for each of my daughters. £45 worth of points, if you redeem these points on only HP or B1G1F offers in boots you can double that up to £90. I got a similar deal on foundation last year.

polkadot I have been searching for buttons for you
when I find some I shall let you know. The glitches normally appear on the "grabbit" forum and you have to be everso quick to snap them up. I got 30 bottles of fairy liquid last year for just over £10 and I know the andrex one recently was a really good offer, I missed that one. Sometimes we get them sometimes we don't so I wouldn't worry too much.
Thanks for thatI'll have to watch the grabbit board more then.I dont think I read enough of the right stuff on this forum.

I thought it was you who asked about the WW stuff. Farmfoods have a fair amount of ww stuff that is on 5 for £4 generally and if you get their flyers through they have vouchers which can add a significant amount to your savings.
ETA: I have £300 to get the kids all some new clothes and I thought, if I can get "more for less"-Id "gift" the difference to the second purse.Anyone seen any good options?
Oh and the toothpaste is finished so Ill be buying a tube from Polkadot Palace today-yay!Havent made a purchase in a while.0 -
A friend of 20 years was trying to persuade me to go shopping with her this morning. When I told her I didn't really have any money to spare, she burst out laughing. "Your loaded' she said, I don't know anyone who spends more than you!" I was flummoxed. Her income is 10 times what mine is LOL and she is always short. But what really got me was even after all the years she's known me, she doesn't realise I shop the way I do because I have to, not because I have plenty of money.
I'm a bit sad because it made me realise she doesn't really know me very well. I have MORE in common with all of you on this thread, than I have with folk I have known a long time.:D
Heres a good way to see how the 2nd Purse is going, count how many different items you have in stock. THATS ??? items you don't need to buy in your weekly shop. If you make a list of everything you buy regularly as your wee shop grows, the items you need to buy each week get less and less. At the moment I've got 95% of what I use in stock.
If anyone sees a good offer on cornflakes let me know please, I've only got 1 packet left LOL :shhh:1st Purse £114.19 Monthly GB:rotfl::j:wave::j:rotfl:

Then next month keep a track of what you have bought from the shops, this is money the 2nd purse owes your 1st purse (if you haven't anything in your 2nd purse). Then also keep a track of what the 1st purse owes the 2nd, so for things bought from MunniMarket.
At the beginning of next month just move money around so all the balances equal outso if your 2nd purse owed the 1st purse £15, but the 1st purse owed the 2nd purse £10, then your 1st purse would need the first £5 from the 2nd.

As for clothes, have you thought about fleabay? I've been selling barely worn clothes of my sisters on there for 99p each + p&p, you can pick up some barrrgains. Otherwise, what about nectar points for TU clothes, mr Tcard points for their range? Esp. when there is a sale on! I never shop outside the sales now for shoes/clothes if I have to. My sister always picks up some real steals in the SMs with their sales.
I put 2 boxes of oats into my shop last night, now I have a good supply for flapjack. They were normally £1.75 each, but I paid £3 I think?!?! I bought them in Mr W so probably wasn't the cheapest offer I could find, and they were branded. But I had my housemates dogs with me and didn't want to leave them outside for too long as they'd just had a terrible fright from a tramps dog/wolf/rabid beast.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Thanks to Mothership for the lists of superfoods :A.
Interesting what you said about your friend - it's funny how often the people with the most income seem to have the least! They obviously don't need to manage it properly.
Thanks Kerri for the links on the front and for updating the spreadsheet :A.
Well yesterday I bought 2 lots of Fairy non bio liquid for £6.00, usually £4.59 each and some more Finish dishwasher tablets for £1.00 (for 13 tabs) from Mr A. Although my second purse doesn't look very healthy with only £1.08 in it, I worked out that for the £20 I've put into it, I have £35.00 worth of stock. That's a profit of £15.00, plus the £1.08 I have left - and that's after only 3 weeks! I'm loving the fact that that will be profit in my pocket (actually on my sofa when I buy the cushions I want :rotfl:) rather than the SM's profit :j.Pay debt in 2012 #278 £2347/£5364

I've just had a "yippee" moment
Phoned Mum this morning to ask what she wants for Mothers Day, and she said she'd like her facial soap (expensive brand). Just looked on JL and I can get it with my £15 vouchers which are currently in my stockpile as it's £14 with them
Oh and another LBM has gone off... if I buy it for her with the voucher I don't need to spend an additional £14 on her, instead I can keep that £14 for myself. Previously I'd been thinking in terms of I'll spend that much on her and then give her the free thing on top of that! tut tut tut.

Don't forget to put your card into the loyalty machine before you buy - I got a 200 extra points when you spend £30 - I wasn't sure if the points would work instore so I purchased 3 mascaras as a test run. The till then gave me another voucher for 150 points on a £5 spend and I got the £15 worth of points on my card - so I went back got another 6 mascaras used the 200 point voucher and the 150 points voucher as well - so I now have a rather lovely fund on my boots card and 9 mascaras I will keep 2 and most likely use the others in little pamper hampers as pressies later in the year
Thanks Mothership for reminding me the money on my card will also work for me as well I hadn't thought about that !!! :T:T:T0
