With regard to tiredness, I get absolutely shattered if I don't eat good food as I've had my thyroid removed. I've found eating proper food, none of this junk food malarchy, and trying to eat as much fruit + veg as possible has really helped as well as not eating as much bread. Although I also switched to eating organic as well, but this is a bit of a pricey lifestyle choice. Not sure if that would help anyone, I guess most have already changed their diets :)

I have changed my diet over the last year since being on a budget, and for the better :T BUT when i have one of my days/weeks where i am exhausted I crave sugary foods :( and fall straight in to the trap of eating chocolate/cake/fizzy drinks and therefore making myself worse by adding IBS to the equation too *doh* !

I think bread is not good for me, find it really hard to give up though, it's just so quick to make a sandwich or toast etc! But when i don't have it my tummy feels much better :)

I read it to my chap last night when he phoned, and he had a right good chuckle - and kept doing so for quite a while :rotfl:

Ooh don't get me started on my IBS, I can't eat pizz@hut anymore :( I was sooo poorly saturday evening afterwards.
Have you tried keeping a banana on standby for the sugar craving? I find that works quite well, although I couldn't do without chocolate.

    2nd purse update:
I've just transferred £4.50 for a bottle of olive oil, and £4.68 for a bottle of xtra virgin olive oil that I put in our kitchen yesterday. I had kept them in the car up at Alexandra Palace and at -1.5 degrees they were completely solid when I took them out. My housemate and I had a good chuckle at olive oil popsicles :)

This meant my 2nd purse could pay back my 1st purse for the £6.43 it borrowed from it the other day :) I think I'm not going to pay anything into my 3rd purse until my 2nd purse is out of credit. I have a column for keeping track of what is being paid by the 1st purse to cover the 2nd. This is for things that I have budgeted for:
i.e. 12 months contact lenses £110 paid from my pots budget
This way I can keep track of all the savings I'm making from buying things in bulk :)

So now my purse has £1.44 in it until I buy something else from my stockpile.

The problem i've got is to stop buying the bargains  I just keep spotting them now and wanting them all even if the second purse doesn't have enough in there  need to stop!!! :rotfl:

:T I think i have been convinced to try this too! Although this month I have already bought the monthly food shop and all the meat so will have to order it at the end of feb, for march! So whoever is next on the list wanting a referral let me know :)

I've just read through all the posts on here about CFS, ME & I can't believe how many have it! 3 people in my family have recently (last 2 years) been diagnosed with fibromalgyia which i'm led to believe is similar? And 2 with M.E :( I myself have been suffering for years with a poor immune system & chronic bouts of tiredness which leave me unable to leave the house for days at a time sometimes the dr's refuse to diagnose me with anything. I have anti d's for the depression and was sent on my merry way, and told to have more sleep in the day if i'm that tired :( all very well with a (then) 1 yr old and a 2 yr old child. Blood tests all came back ok, apart from low white cell count which she reckons won't help with a poor immune system. Low iron & potassium! My aunt has kept her M.E at bay with changing her diet & I am going to try the same with 'whatever' i have...so will be reading with interest to see what stuff you all recommend :)

ooooh sorry long post (again) i really could ramble for a gold medal :rotfl:
I have sent you a pm, if you haven't already been recommended - let me know (thanks),.
Regarding the ME it is interesting, the specialist thought I had MS so was a relief not to, I thought at the time they had given me the M.E label as they didn't know what else I had, but it has been more helpful at work to be able to give "it" a name. I have good and bad days (went for 3 months reaaaaaally well , then had a week of bad so hoping its short lived - maybe weather/run down - I don't know ) I had been celebrating how much better I had been feeling so hope I didn't celebrate too soon. I too will be reading with interest others tales - and more importantly of their bargain successess - le creuset here I come!!!
    I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!

I settle up when I get home as well as I normally just whack it on the debit card. Then when I'm putting it into the spreadsheet I move the money across from my savings account :) Then when I buy from my "shop" I move the money back into the savings account hehe.

Aaah! That was one of the things that made me really ill when I had ME, overdosing on sugar, I used to eat a banana or two like Kerri. I was convinced at one point that the ME was controlling my cravings as I had never eaten much sugar, when I replaced it with things like fruit & banannas etc. AND stopped eating too many things with yeast .( Soda bread is good or sourdough, and Potato scones) Wine also made me feel unwell. I noticed a big improvement. I came to the conclusion that the ME virus needed certain things to survive, so through years of experimenting I think I eventually hit on what it was feeding on and starved it out.

By the way the Marmalade fiasco is true I wrote it exactly as it happened, my family say I'm a cross between Michael Crawford's 'Some mothers do have em" and Delia Smith lol. My cooking experiments have been a source of great amusement to my lot. When they work they can be 'really good', but sometimes like with the marmalade, well what can I say . I learn from my mistakes :). I've since found an easier way to make it.
    1st Purse £114.19 Monthly GB
    2nd Purse ££100

I usually use cards for everything, but I am TRYING to use cash, to see if that helps me limit my spending.

So I have my purse, my Second Purse, my sealed pots - little piles of money all over the place :rotfl:

My late MIL had loads of little purses for different things and I used to chuckle about it.......but if she could see me now she would be having the last laugh ;)

Ooh yeast, I'll have to tell my Mum that one as well. Will go and find your post where you said about the foods that did it for you and pass on the information to her :) Thanks mothership
