  • Hi everyone - wow caught up at last. Am going away for the weekend, so I can see that Monday night will be spent catching up on this thread - gosh, it moves so fast!

Went to Mr M's today and bought 10 boxes of cat food - saving of £10.29 and 7 bottles of EV olive oil (that's all they had left) so a saving of £13.23, along with a few other reduced items came to £56.22 BUT FORGOT ABOUT THE SUN VOUCHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!:mad::mad:

Am slowly getting to grips with the 2nd purse but have decided not to fret until next month when I will be working purely in cash instead of the moment as still have my cc card, so have 2 systems on the go.

Thanks for the pasta recipe Mothership, and will definitely give it a go - and sooooooooooooo glad you are still with us :T:T - you are wonderful :A:A:A
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying!:rotfl:

  • Hi
I was wondering if I could join this challenge?
I've been doing it since you started it up, I just wanted to make sure that it would work for me before I signed up................. and it seems to. Although it does help that over the last few months I'd been accumulating a nice little stockpile worth £294 :)
So I've been paying myself back as I go - my 2nd purse has about £40 in it.
Can you set my target as £50 - I'd like to replace all my baking trays with Circulon ones :) It'd be nice to have a non-stick tray that is actually non-stick.

I was amazed reading yesterdays posts as I also have ME - I've had it since I was 15, am 32 now. I got mine from a bad case of the flu - took the Docs about 5 years to decide what was wrong with me. I've still got it, but am able to work 16 hours a week, go & do the food shoppping, but that's pretty much all I can do :(

Am also also debating buying that DR mince - it does look really good.

I'm thinking about buying the mince and some venison (which I love and which works well on my Fat Club plan ;))

That would be £36.50 including delivery and I would get 12% cashback from Quidco so eventually I would see £4.38 back.

I currently have £16.30 in my second purse, so would take £20.20 from the normal grocery budget to cover the rest. I will use the mince as normal, but for a third of the packs I will replace the money in my second purse. Does that make sense??

fozzie - could you PM me and let me know all the info you need to refer me so you get a nice wee present!

Consider yourself signed up :) and well done for doing so well with it so far.
Incidentally, my Mum has ME so I can relate to what all you lovely people are saying about it. I need to tell her about the superfoods when I speak to her next actually, as forgot the other day.

I couldn't get quidco as I phoned up *sobs* Your method definitely makes sense and if it works for you then go for it :)

There really haven't been any offers that have sprung out at me this week looking on mysupermarket, I think they must be on a bi-weekly thing or something, hmmm

  • Hmm, I seem to be having the same trouble with DR as you Kerri :(
I guess I'll try again tomorrow, perhaps from another computer. Hopefully it'll work - I'm doing my weekly food shop tomorrow & wanna get it sorted before then or its MrS mince for me.
Also MrT has Twinings Everyday (80) Teabags on BOGOF £2.89- I bought 6 last week & I think I like them better than the English Breakfast ones - they're definately 'cleaner' bags - of which I still have 2 boxes left over from the last BOGOF :)

Isn't it funny, once someone mentions ME, everyone seems to either have it or know someone who does.

Thanks Mothership for starting all this, it's a great system & I think a lot of people are going to benefit.

If you can't get it to work in the morning then give them a call, you'll miss the quidco but can still use a referral code if you have one which gets you free delivery :) I ordered this afternoon and it's arriving on Saturday, hence why I say to order in the morning as you might be able to get it saturday :)

Is ME what was referred to as guppys disease?

Kerri, 'Yuppies disease' yeah in the 80's, it's had quite a few name changes over the years.
I started off with Post Viral Fatigue Syndrome, then ME. They tried to rename me again with CFS, but I'm an ME girl :)

Hmm perhaps I'll try calling DR tomorrow, I bet Ican't use the free delivery code off Mothership's post on the phone though, but I'll give it a try.

So many of us with M.E :( though I do call it my illness of convenience (really upset a girl on another thread saying that as she totally miss understood my meaning and thought I meant we weren't all ill!) I call it that because I feel its a term used for those of us that dont fit any other box :( I almost felt like the doc was saying 'hmm well I dont know whats wrong with you so here have an umbrella term and go on your merry way' :(

I do get annoyed when people say I have CFS as people who dont understand the illness do think im just tired sometimes. I can just about get myself round the c0-op on my feet, or to the bread aisle in my local Waitr0se, not both, so if anyone I used to work with see me they make a point of saying 'oh your looking well, on the mend then?' and I have had to bite back 'actually no, im dying on my feet, im about to go home and collapse into a chair fighting the waves of exhastion nausea, until 4:30 where I will force myself to go make dinner as theres no-one else to do it.
My legs dont work anymore, I have completely random pain which just picks a spot in my body each day without warning, its a complete fluke if I actually fall asleep at a decent time and I can be staring at the ceiling until 4 - 5am sometimes, and even if I do fall asleep its not like your sleep its just going on standby and I get to wake up just as fatigued as when I went to bed and get the joy of trying to still get up an care for my kids in this state. Oh and just to add a bit extra my memory is now so bad I take things out my oven without tea towels because I forget ovens are hot, I cant remember place signs minutes after reading them, have got in my car and forgotten how to drive just to name a few.
I have made my daughter virtually a prisoner in our home as I cant walk from my car to the park, let alone stand and push her on the swings. I cant attend any of my sons sports days as I cant get from my car to the field and would hate to embarass him by turning up in my scooter, so my mum has to book time off work to go in my place. I've missed school plays, parents evenings, show your mum your work evenings and invite your mum to lunch days. So in answer to your question, no im not feeling better, im just doing what I have to to get through the day and trying to explain myself to you has just used up a great big bit of my daily energy allowance that I couldnt afford to lose.'

Right rant over :o just been wanting to say that too certain old co-workers for 3 years now :(

I used my second purse for the first time. 6 squeezy bottles of tate and lyle golden syrup - rrp £1.39 or 2 for a quid! I bought 8 last year when they had the same offer (I guess for pancake day) and we are just down to the last bottle now so perfect! I use a lot of syrup in cooking and the kids love it on their porridge.

I would usually buy smart price but even I have to admit the squeezy bottles are handy and its nicer. I wiill buy it back for £1 a bottle whcih is mid way between sp and the rrp and still gives me 100% profit!
