You're doing so well with your savings!
I have a question - how do you join Costco? (sorry, I expect this has been asked before)
And a comment - I agree that DR seems expensive so I only buy things on offer, but by golly it's good! We had cottage pie last night made from their mince and it's so meaty and flavoursome there's no comparison with meat from sm. I'd rather save money on other things just so I can afford DR meat!
    Rx

    Why thank you

I'm a trade member at Costco which means you have to be a business or organisation (DH is a scout leader). Think you can also get individual membership but I expect it's a different annual fee (ours is paid for by Scouts)

...and yes, DR meat is LUSH :D

I'm a trade member too - I sell a few bits on Etsy so I have a letterhead and a business card but I'm not exactly a 'business' but I took them and my council tax bill for proof of address and they were fine! :j I think my membership was about £25 for the year including the VAT. I got to pick a free gift, I got a free party cake worth about £12 for my Dad's 60th which offset some of the cost. If you don't think your membership is worth the annual fee you can get a refund and leave again in your first year.

I have a branch literally a quarter of a mile from me so I can go in and compare branches whenever I need anything, it works out well for me :D I am off there tomorrow for loo paper, nature valley bars and the aforementioned fabric softener.

Mmm DR mince is ace. I still have some in, I must be the only person on earth who has some nicer mince saved 'for best' :rotfl:

    I got:
Nature Valley Bars x 48 (9.58 inc Vat, OH loves them)
Original Source shower gel x 12 (£12, will charge OH £2. Know could get them at poundland but never bother going into town)
Velvet loo rolls x 40 (£10.78, OH won't have cheap brands)
Pepsi Max x 24 (£5.39, I take these to work, will charge self the 70p our vending machine charges)
Huge thing of Schwartz italian seasoning, £2.39 - usually you'd pay not much less than that for a tiny glass jar!
Huge 178 wash bottle of Lenor £4.99... that was OH again!
Oh, and a 1.3kg black pudding  that I presume will keep OH's arteries clogged for a very long time to come, for £2.19 :rotfl:

Plus got a rotisserie chicken, they're £3.99 and lush, as after all that and now off to work too, there's no way I'm cooking tonight!

Just had first trip to home bargains as one has just opened near my mum. Bought 20 tins of tuna (2.99 for 4, £1 cheaper than mr t), 12 tins tomatoes (4 for a £1) plus some curry sauces, pickles, wraps and nann bread. Spent about £33, but v pleased! Also bought 2 Wow toys for £4 each as presents (normally about £8 full price). However any savings went on pjs for the boys and a v expensive diary for work (not from home bargains!).

Also bought meat from Weston gourmet so have a v full freezer! Not sure the meat is as good as DR but it was worth a try!

Not sure I have much room in cupboards or freezer for much more stuff! Think I will soon need some quorn stuff and more sugar for jam making, but hopefully no more second purse spends next month as I want to see some money in the third purse!
    Oct grocery budget £368.40 / 600

Thanks all for the info on Costco, I'll have a look at that link but it does sound bargainous. I've been buying bargains but not as good as these and I keep forgetting to keep track so I've no idea how much I've saved. Oh well no-one's perfect :o

    Hello SPers

Just to let you know that Kerri has made an appearance on DFBX board, so is safe and sound. Hopefully we'll see her here soon :)

Mr M have 16 Cu5he11e toilet rolls on offer for £5 (31.25p each) until 9th Sept and Fel1x AGAIL catfood, 12 pouch boxes for £3 (sorry - didn't catch the end date on that).

I'm still not really back into SP-ing but am keeping with the ethos and bargain hunting and bulk buying where possible. Hopefully once I've started to sort the rest of my life I will find my way back ;)

    H xx
