Second Purse Challenge 2012

Hi all,
I think I've just about got my head around this purse business. Just a few questions:
How big does your stockpile get ans where do you keep it? I don't have a pantry, and my garage is too warm, especially in summer months.
What if you buy a bargain that is always priced low? Eg I buy loo roll from home bargains, is lots cheaper than sm for quilted stuff, but always the same price, so not a discount as such.
What are the key things you stock up on?
I've been trying to declutter and am worried about taking over cupboards and corners. Do you forget you have stuff and then it goes out of date?
I do the grocery challenge anyway, but I'm sort of trying to not buy much. I might end up buying stuff I don't really need, just because it's bogof...
Just trying to see if this would work for me!
Thank you!Bossymoo

Another one with an easiy0
I got mine for free from my adopted sister (and a load of sachets :rotfl:) she bought it for me as the sachets are gluten free :j so DS can eat it. I found it a bitter so was adding the full amount of sugar, DS then told me off for making it too sweet :rotfl: but he loves it and has one of those berry flavouring things as well so adds it to the plain ones.
Thinking about it I havent made any in a while, must get on and do it, dont want my free yoghurt to go out of date :eek:SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -

HugeKeep it anywhere thats got a free space :rotfl:got an under unit cupboard, half a corner cupboard and an entire floor to ceiling double door cupboard (that houses the boiler) full of stock :rotfl:
What if you buy a bargain that is always priced low? Eg I buy loo roll from home bargains, is lots cheaper than sm for quilted stuff, but always the same price, so not a discount as such.
I buy back at what I would normally pay, so if its always £2.99 a pack then thats what I buy it back at and dont make a profit off it
What are the key things you stock up on?
Loo Roll, cleaning products, shampoo, body wash, cereal, meat (for freezer) and jars I use all the time like curry and lasagne sauce and r0binsons juice (we get through a bottle in 4 days )
I've been trying to declutter and am worried about taking over cupboards and corners. Do you forget you have stuff and then it goes out of date?
I rotate my stock everytime I do a 2nd purse shop so new stuff goes to the back of the cupboard, everything is also rowed up on the shelves like in the shop to make sure nothing gets hidden away and forgotten
I do the grocery challenge anyway, but I'm sort of trying to not buy much. I might end up buying stuff I don't really need, just because it's bogof...
Unfortunately this comes down to being strict with yourself. I tend to look at my stock before I go shopping and write a list of what im short of and then have a second list underneath of things that it would be good to have if they are at the right price. I am well trained in only looking at what I know I want and not going 'oooo pepsi 2 for £3 i'll have that' as my husband does
Just trying to see if this would work for me!
Thank you!
Hopefully that helps you :rotfl:SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -

Oooh goodie, lots of new 2nd pursers (waves)
I keep some of my stock in a seperate kitchen cupboard (bottom shelf, 800mm wide cupboard). This was fairly easy for me as we had an extension last autumn and I gained twice as many cupboards again, so factored my 'shop' into the refitI also have an overflow fridge freezer in the garage. The freezer section is chokablock with meat plus other freezables from 2nd purse.
Some people have purchased shelving for under the stairs or the loft. Kerri (the OP) has her shop in her bed - I kid you not!! You will need to work out what's best for you and your space. Oh and loo rolls I buy in bulk at Co$tco and keep them on top of the wardrobe. I have an old 1940's house with a pantry. I swear that if we move I'll take it with me, it's just so fabbilously useful. :rotfl:Lots of space in their for bulk purchasing of all sorts of stuff.
Rosy, have ordered from DR, how exciting! Their steak and burgers selection box (it's like Christmas, only less chocolately) and some lamb burgers and a lifetimes supply (or so it seems) of mince. :TLong haul supporter #290POAYDBX2014 #043LBM Dec 2011 Debt £51K Debt Nov 2014 £42K0 -

It'll seem like Christmas when it comes, it's really well packed! I haven't tried their steak yet, I can't afford it! By the way, re: packaging - has anyone found a use yet for the polystyrene boxes they use? It seems a waste just to throw them away

Now if I remember correctly, Mothership mentioned putting holes in the bottom and using them as planters?SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -

And I could break the lids up and use in the bottom of the planters, and they'd probably keep the plants' little feet cosy in the winter! Genius!
Thanks jakes-mum & Mothership :T

We had DR rolled brisket using Delia$ potroast recipe last night - OMG so lush. Really tender and so tasty. Must get the 2nd purse balance up again to make another order.
