Dont know if that helps or hinders your problem
Was your grocery budget big enough before you started SPing?
If it was, are you charging yourself too much for SP stock?
If the budget was enough before, then presumably it should be enough now.....so it's a question of tracking down why it isnt going as far as it did before SP.
Thank you Fozzie. I did start off putting all money into SP with a view to transferring over when I got to a limit (£100) but unfortunately I always see too many bargains and the money never had time to build up in SP to get to the limit, so because I am an impatient person, decided to put all profit straight to 3P. Which has worked to a degree and since starting this back in February have had a profit of around £300.
I didn't ever have a grocery budget so to speak off before I started the GC, but on looking back at 6 months credit card statements (paid for all groceries on cc and then paid off each month) my average grocery bill was £375 so thought £350 would be more than enough (3 adults and one teenager, 2 cats) so know that the amount is doable.
Even though I don't pay back at full RRP on most items, I tend to pay back what I would have paid for those items iyswim, which maybe too high even then. I do think my GB is more under strain coz of SP as I always bought most things on offer before but obviously just put them in the cupboard, but now am paying back for items that beforehand would have been for 'free' so I think that is where the problem lies.
I love SP'ing though and really don't want to go back to my old ways of shopping, but at the moment am confused as to what to do for the best.:(
Thanks for your help and advice - will look at spreadsheet this week and see if I am buying back at too higher priceWhen you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying!:rotfl:

I am trying this month to work in arrears (as Mothership does) to see if that is better, but I am concerned that I only have £40 in 2nd purse and £63 left in grocery budget for the rest of the month - 23rd - 22nd monthly.
What happens if I need to use all the £40 from 2P as I won't be topping it back up until next month - and how do I continue to buy stuff like DR meat and AF if no money left in the budget? I am confusing myself and just wanted to see if you lovely people could put me on the straight and narrow or if I am on the right lines?
Thank you so much
It took me a while to figure out what was best for me, I put all my SP money in and when the total reaches £50.00 , I transfer to third purse, I have got £125.00 in there now.
I have got to the point that l just need top up's from the SM and also things like fruit veg milk bread, but we can pretty much do a whole week using my stock cupboard and freezer which has alot of yellow stickers in.:)2nd purse £50.00
3rd purse £100.00

Yes Rosielady, I think I really need to work out what I need in my shop and only buy the offers on stuff that I use alot of, rather than stuff coz it's on offer and will take me an age to use up. As I rarely go to the SMs anymore, I don't get the ys food, which used to be alot of my GB, so maybe need to go around the time when they make the biggest reductions and stock up the freezer?
Think I will try it this month under new regime and see how I get on, but am a bit concerned as only have £63 left in GB and £40 in SP (and my new month only started on Tuesday last week) - keeping my fingers crossed xxWhen you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Hey all, been off enjoying the sun for a bit, but thought I'd stop by.
I've managed to buy my garden furniture! So we are already seeing the real benefits of the SP! My SP is very low again however, as I spent lots to use a £6 WYS £40, and a large AF order, but I would already like to make another order. That wouldn't be wrong though, right? It would all lead to more profit in the end... and surely that is the name of the game?
I do have £38.95 in the TP again though, so that's going towards a set of bedside cabinets, which I think will set me back just over £100.2nd Purse #036 £46.69/£50.003rd Purse £30.02

Good afternoon SPers!
Sorry I've been a bit AWOL and I have to admit I haven't kept an eye on my stock the past few days because.....
I've been busy with my brand new baby girl!!!!:happylove
She arrived on Friday 8 days early and has taken up pretty much all my time since coming home from hospital on Saturday. I still plan to carry on with SP but need to settle in with her for a few more days then can get back on track. I was completely up to date on Friday so just need to do a stock take and move the money to get back on track!MFW £190,450/£141,1400 -
