I settled up SP today - owed SP £28.00.

So SP now back up to its full £40 and 3rdP now has £68.50 :j

I managed to drag another shelf thing downstairs, so now have a seperate paper products "aisle" in Sallys Stores! :rotfl:

I have decided to increase the prices of some of the things I buy things from myself for......shops prices have increased so much and it will be a bit of extra profit for SP :T

    6 x diet pepsi from £2.50 to £3.00

    Tissues from £1 to £1.50

Kitchen roll from 50p to 75p

Think I had better start charging for HM cakes and muffins too, to try and make them seem less attractive to me! :o

    Afternoon!

Went to Co$tco today and bought some more stock for Cazco:

    24 x pep$i max, 24 x Oa$i$, 48 x juice cartons, 40 x velvet toilet tissue, 18 x Go Ahead bar$ - total spends were £40.78 from my £50 balance.

Updated my spreadsheet to include these purchases and also settled up again from my GC budget, paying the 2nd purse another £22.25.

    Loving this system!

    Off to update sig.

I've just been into sainsbo for some bargains, spent £22, saved £6 and got voucher for £2 for next shop. I'm quite pleased with that :) Lido tomorrow for bacon! My savings will go into my sealed pot :)

As you all know it took me some time to get 2nd pursing, but when I think I have got it, I just seem to confuse myself.

I am trying this month to work in arrears (as Mothership does) to see if that is better, but I am concerned that I only have £40 in 2nd purse and £63 left in grocery budget for the rest of the month - 23rd - 22nd monthly.

What happens if I need to use all the £40 from 2P as I won't be topping it back up until next month - and how do I continue to buy stuff like DR meat and AF if no money left in the budget? I am confusing myself and just wanted to see if you lovely people could put me on the straight and narrow or if I am on the right lines?

    Thank you so much

    Where have the SPers gone?

Are you all off holiday and just me left behind??? :rotfl:

I have settled up with Sallys Stores (needed to replace a few basics the last day or two) so I owed £14.

SP has it's full £40 and 3rd Purse is up to £82.50 again :T
  • SP down to just under £5 now.... Bought some Kopperburg cider in Te$€o yesterday, reduced from £2.19 to £1.50 a bottle... I'll buy back at full price :)

    Hi MM

I took a while to understand it as well, and also to work out what system works for me. It felt as tho' the first couple of months I was spending all of SP money on bargains and as soon as I paid it back I was spending it all over again!

What I do is have a grocery budget for the calendar month (£450). From this I buy goods from CAZCO (2nd purse stock) and SMs. I usually settle up weekly.

This week is the last week of my GC and as you will see from my sig, I am over budget. So....whatever I need from CAZCO for the next few days I will pay the SP on 1st June from June's grocery budget. This doesn't happen every month but it's your money/stock and you can 'owe' SP - whereas you wouldn't be able to pop to MrT and grab what you need and have a tab going :rotfl:

With regards to AF and DR orders. I have only made one DR order (a large one) and it took me a few months to get the purse up to that level. AF orders usually contain things I can use quickly, for lunch and packed lunches for the children, so I recoup the money for those orders really quickly.

Why don't you make a list of what you use from 2nd purse this week and pay back what you can from this month's grocery budget once you've been to the SM. HTH.

Thanks Coxy - I don't know whether it's because I am now trying Mothership's way of paying back at the beginning of a new month or not, tbh!! I was paying back my 2P weekly and using my GB (£350) to pay back, but as I was going to try it this way to see if it worked better for me, I had to pay back loads from this month's GB to 2 and 3 purses, thereby leaving me just £66 for the month. I did actually come under budget on the GC this month by a few pence but if I added the money I would have paid back to other purses had I done it weekly then I would have been massively over budget on GB.

I also think that as I pay profit straight into 3P then my 2P doesn't fill up so quickly for the bargains and therefore only have a limited amount in 2P.

Will see how I get on this month and will persevere and see how it all pans out - thanks for your help btw, it is much appreciated.

edit: think I am trying to run before I can walk !!!

Not sure what other people do, but any money I owe the SP goes into the SP 1st till it is topped up to it's current limit, and any extra goes to 3rd Purse.

Dont know if that helps or hinders your problem ;)

Was your grocery budget big enough before you started SPing?

If it was, are you charging yourself too much for SP stock?

If the budget was enough before, then presumably it should be enough now.....so it's a question of tracking down why it isnt going as far as it did before SP.
