Well, I haven't told any 'friends' about 2nd pursing. Don't think they would 'get it' to be honest. My family are ok - hubby is great and I'm not sure if it's because he's being indulgent to my hobby as he sees it or really understands. My DD (who's left home) thinks I'm a bit mad and my DS (who's about to leave home) gets it, but they both joke - ooh tell Mum if you use a loo roll, so she can put it on her spread sheet!:rotfl::rotfl:
It may be funny, but they have both benefitted from my 'shop', when either DD has run out of something or DS has been given a huge stock of goodies to help him start up.
I don't care what others think, as long as I have like minded people on here to talk to, then I'm happy:D.
MinniMuncha, hope the DR steak turned out ok in the end. I do find that the leaner the meat, the shorter the cooking time needed.0 -

Yes I think you are right there - decided not to cook it anymore so will just put it down to experience - expensive way to find out though:mad:When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying!:rotfl:

I was just wondering whether you tell your 'real-life' friends about the 2P method? I have been out with different sets of friends the last 2 weekends and I have mentioned the 2P system - which was greeted with lots of hilarity:o.
I did try and explain how it works (amongst lots of laughter and people not getting the concept of it - or maybe it's just that I can't explain it properly) but it did make me wonder whether I am going to talk about it anymore to 'real-life' people as their reaction is always the same.
I told a frugal friend about SPing and she "got it right away"!!
I told a group and 3 friends about it while chatting in a coffee shop, one "got it" instantly and the other 2 were totally
blank :rotfl:
So it's probably not the way we explain but the way their brains work0 -
When I told my DH about SPing, I wasn't sure how he would react - I thought he might think it was wasting money. How wrong I was - he got it straight away, (quicker than I did actually ) and has rearranged the garage and pantry over the weekend (while I was away, as a surprise!) to accommodate all the Bun&Co stock! What a star! :T
The only thing is, he KEEPS saying 'oh, you could buy that out of the second purse' - which is great, but at the mo the SP doesn't have anything in it! :rotfl:
I haven't told anyone else yet - not sure how some of my friends would react. I do tell them when I see really good deals on here, though, so they're still benefiting even if they don't know it!:D0 -
I spent £4 out of 3rd Purse on the Lidl perfume (perfume is a luxury in my mind, whether from Lidl or not :rotfl:) and its actually rather nice and smells good on me (lots of perfume I like, doesnt
).
Second Purse spent approx £9.00 in Lidl and Tesco Express:-
4 x diet pepsi x 6 paid £1.39 buy at £2.50 each so £10
10 x ice-cream wafers paid £1.59 buy back at 50p each so £5.00
2 x YS ready meals 99p each buy back at £2.50 each so £5.00
So all good profits for my Second/3rd Purse, when I get round to using them :T
Will have to wait till the end of the week before I can afford to pay BACK SP, but it is very obliging and doesnt mind waiting0 -
The £50 in my SP is burning a hole now
I've started buying all my whoopsied items from the SP and writing on them how much I'm willing to pay - so if it's reduced to £1 then I pay £1.20 for example. It's helping the food budget go further and giving me lots of wee profits for the SP.
I'm going to C0stc0 next week to stock up on looroll and kitchen roll, so that'll be more good bits for the SP0 -
Oh I go away for 2 days and miss so much
Mothership so sorry for your sad newsso young as well
Munni I only talk about my 2nd Purse to people I know might get it, my mum was immediately interested as we grew up on yellow stickers and DH took a few attempts to understand (got really interested when I told him about motherships secret account . . cant imagine why) he and the kids do joke about telling me if they take a loo roll but they also notice the increase in 'nice' things. DS especially is loving mums sweet shop and visits regularly for a choc bar. Not sure if hes told his mates he buys his sweets from his mum, but hes a smart boy and can see how much he saves buying from SOS rather than the SM
Well back from skeggie, and was so pleased to find a home bargains there :j :j bought some bargains
9 x Caramel Eggs 10p each (buy back at 30p)
7 pack Bounties 79p (buy back at 40p each)
2 x 4 pack Aero Mint Bars 99p per pack (buy back at 40p per bar)
2 x 100ml Colgate Toothpaste 69p each (buy back £1)
I also saw cadburys cream eggs at 8 for £1 in a sweet shop in the same arcade but when I went back to get them they were all goneSPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -
Mothership - I'm so sorry to hear your sad news. I'll be thinking and praying for you and your family.
Just done my totals so far, and I owe the sp £35.90. I've decided I'm going to total it all up and pay out of next month's GC, so working in arrears.
I need to look into getting cheaper cat food - minibun will only eat Whisk@s S!mply, which is £3 a box on offer! Can anyone recommend any pouches for a fussy cat with a sensitive stomach? She can't eat dried food at all, it makes her throw up.:o0 -
If you have access to Costco, Velvet loo roll is £10.78 for 40 rolls. Also Plenty kitchen roll ( 6 x 2 fat rolls) £5.98 and kleenex mansize tissues 6 pack £4.78. These offers start tomorrow until the 10th June.
I will be stocking up in a couple of weeks!
Oh thank you so much :j I am off to Co$tco on Friday as I am catering for 200 at church on Sunday (don't ask.....) and will definitely stock up on loo roll - that's a brilliant price. Will tell my friend she definitely can't come with me now as I will need the front seat for the loo roll :rotfl:

Hey MM, don't feel despondant - it's their loss. I too have tried explaining it to my Mum and Sister but they don't have space and if there's one thing you definitely need it's spaceThe main thing is my family (DH, 2 x DSs and DD) all 'get it' and don't question what I'm doing.
Who wants to join me in recommending Mothership for the New Years Honours List - seriously Mothership - you could run the country :ACross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings0
