Second Purse Challenge 2012

No I'm just not very good with spreadsheets I think. Maybe I need to overhaul mine and make it less complicated, that way I can just put in how much I've used, what I've bought, and it'll tell me what I owe the purse. Then maybe I need a column for how much I've put into the purse. That sounds soooo much simpler actually! Will start on it now
I can put mine on google docs for you if you want a template or some ideas?:jDebt Free By Xmas 2013 #010 £16,660.26/£16,660.26 100% paid, DFD 25/06/13!:j0 -

This is the one I have ordered Mothership:-
http://h41306.www4.hp.com/item?SID=9bb28cbce328ade20b6cb35d97e62504650:1508&sku=CR231BD
It keeps going down to £25 and I keep missing it!
But yesterday afternoon I finally clicked at the right time, I also ordered a black and multicolour ink for £9.50.
It looks like it is back up in price now but I have been following the threads on HotUkDeals and it keeps coming back, this is the thread from yesterday:

Just a quick question for those with babies...
My first baby is due in 2 months and being the organised person I am I'm going to start getting some nappies/wipes etc... now. Obviously I'll be taking advantage of offers both now and when baby is here!
If you buy nappies etc... on offer do you count them as part of your shop and second purse? I can imagine that baby items will take up a reasonable amount of my weekly groceries budget! I'm tempted just to keep them as part of my weekly shop, if they're on offer great I've saved some money, but not worry about buying them back at usual price.
What do you other mummies do??
Thank you!MFW £190,450/£141,1400 -

Thank you!she doesn't bulk nappies as they grow out of them too fast according to her (although I think she fibs as her 2yo still fits in 12-18mnth clothes).
I would bulk the wipes though, as you're going to get through tonnes of them! Look out for when there's really good offers and grab them. The one that springs to mind is when they did the starter box recently, with a £1 off wipes voucher in Mr A, whilst mr T had 3 for 1 on the wipes, so she got 3 packs of wipes for £1 and I think there was an offer on the starter box at the time as well.
I think if you're prepared to pay for it at full price, but you could use the SP to get it cheaper, then it makes sense to save the pennies where you canThe SP does start to pay for itself as you get a good stock behind you.

Though my youngest 'baby' is now 4 so I dont actually use this stuff anymore, I am a mum so will jump in
You could buy them with your 2nd purse when they are on offer and buy them back at cost/slightly more when you use them? Its your shop, you set the prices. This will mean you'll have a good stock but not be doing the £30 'nappies are on special lets use all our GB buying them cos they're so darned expensive normally' convo in the nappy aisle.
With DD I actually completely packed out my understairs cupboard with nappies from size newborn to 4 before she was born :rotfl:
Just settled up my purses and 2 purse has: £27.21 and 3rd purse has £54.90 :j:j So well on track for DHs bike show ticket and yamaha jacket. Also had the plan that I will inform him that any money he gets for his birthday he's keeping for the show so hes got plenty to buy his bike toot with

Thanks ladies...
I think I'm going to do something a bit in the middle of SP and just buying normally. I'll buy/stock up on offer and put it in my shop but not charge full amount.
e.g at the minute Mr T has boxes of 6 x J0hn$0ns wipes for £5.00 instead of £6.49 plus I have several coupons for £1.00 off packs of 6 making them £4.00 for 6 or 66p per single pack. I'm going to get a couple of boxes of 6, put them in my store cupboard and charge myself 1.00 for a pack to my SP. that way I'm still making a bit of profit on them but not their usual retail value. It makes sense to me and I'll still be putting money back into my SP to stock up next time they're on offer.
As for nappies I'm a bit in 2 minds as I know not all brands suit all babies so don't want to get a big stock of them only to find I don't use them. I've got a few packs of Hugg1€s and P@mp€rs already and was going to get a couple packs from the "other Mr A" that isn't A$d@ as I've heard that they're really good.
Or...I might keep a 2nd SP for baby stuff but that might just get confusing!
Being a bit of a saddo I've already started my list for next weeks grocery shopping even though I won't be doing it until Saturday as I'm so excited about starting my SP properly! It's going to be a bit of a mammoth day as I'm going to be going to 3 or 4 different SM's but it will so be worth it. And as its weekend I'll be using DH's car so no petrol cost going all the different places as his fuel is all paid for by his business. Now that's saving moneyMFW £190,450/£141,1400 -

Hi be careful about bulk buying before you know what suits your baby as mine were allergic to most wipes and Pamp£rs nappies gave them nappy rash whereas Huggies ones didn't.Pay debt in 2012 #278 £2347/£5364

ACL2009 I currently have 2 in nappies-DS2 is 18 months and DD1 is 9 weeks.I keep out their child benefit money for nappies and formula (DS2 is on toddler milk and happy so Im not fighting that battle) DD1 is breastfeeding (Way hey-only took me three of the little monkeys to get that right:j) because they are number 2 and 3 they get just on £60 a month-you will get £80 for your first baby.
I use only £20.00 a month on nappies, and DS2 gets £40 for his milk (although it is coming down).I use pencil bags for purses-so each month when the CB comes in I withdraw it and ut it in their pencil bag (DS1 gets his put by for school stuff and he goes swimming with DH on Sundays),then I spend only that on nappies and formula.
I find that the best is B00ts-sign up fo parenting club and you get 10 points per pound and every few months they do a three for two.So for example last month I ordered 4 boxes of 1-2 toddler milk, 3 jumbo boxes of pampers newborn and 3 boxes of pampers 5+,cost £75.00 total (free delivery for orders above £40 so no lugging boxes) and £7.50 back in points (so ultimately that stash cost £67.50)-so effectively I only used one of their budgets for both of them...and realistically because I ordered 3 of each-I dont need to place another order for abou 6 weeks.
The other thing to note is they only wear newbie 1 for a week or two-but she's been in newbie 2 since about 3 weeks to now.And as long as you dont open them you can return them to any store to exchange for a bigger size.and by that I dont mean if you bought at B00ts you can go to any b00ts store-you can take them back to any of the SM's as they have some sort of arrangement with the manufacturers.0
