I saw this website posted on a different thread and have been browsing it, some really interesting ideas and thought it might help some SPers that, like me, are just learning that we don't have to buy, buy, buy all the time :)

    Hi everyone,

Just been on the March GC to 'fess up that I'm bust for this month lol!

Its DH's birthday tomorrow and as he's off we are going to Ikya for 99p brekkie (I really know how to treat him right) and some purchases for DDs bedroom. Then onto to Co$tco. Have about £18 in SP so will be buying juice cartons for DD and DS2s pack ups (for after Easter hols). 24 each of apple and orange do almost 5 weeks so it's a good thing to stock up on.

Still no money in my 3rd purse - not EVEN 15p :rotfl:

ACL2009 I currently have 2 in nappies-DS2 is 18 months and DD1 is 9 weeks.I keep out their child benefit money for nappies and formula (DS2 is on toddler milk and happy so Im not fighting that battle) DD1 is breastfeeding (Way hey-only took me three of the little monkeys to get that right:j) because they are number 2 and 3 they get just on £60 a month-you will get £80 for your first baby.

I use only £20.00 a month on nappies, and DS2 gets £40 for his milk (although it is coming down).I use pencil bags for purses-so each month when the CB comes in I withdraw it and ut it in their pencil bag (DS1 gets his put by for school stuff and he goes swimming with DH on Sundays),then I spend only that on nappies and formula.

I find that the best is B00ts-sign up fo parenting club and you get 10 points per pound and every few months they do a three for two.So for example last month I ordered 4 boxes of 1-2 toddler milk, 3 jumbo boxes of pampers newborn and 3 boxes of pampers 5+,cost £75.00 total (free delivery for orders above £40 so no lugging boxes) and £7.50 back in points (so ultimately that stash cost £67.50)-so effectively I only used one of their budgets for both of them...and realistically because I ordered 3 of each-I dont need to place another order for abou 6 weeks.

The other thing to note is they only wear newbie 1 for a week or two-but she's been in newbie 2 since about 3 weeks to now.And as long as you dont open them you can return them to any store to exchange for a bigger size.and by that I dont mean if you bought at B00ts you can go to any b00ts store-you can take them back to any of the SM's as they have some sort of arrangement with the manufacturers.

This is a great help thank you so much! Especially the fact you can return nappies for another size, I didn't know that. I've actually got about 10 packs of new baby size 1 nappies due to lots of coupons so better not get anymore of those! I'll be getting the next size up next time.

I was going to use child benefit to to put in a junior isa so even though I won't have that to use, £20 ish a month on nappies isn't as much as I though it would be. I've already allowed for a slight increase in our GB to buy nappies/toiletries/wipes which will hopefully more then cover the additional cost.

I'll be signing up to B00ts parenting club asap as 10 points per £1 is great, especially as I have one in walking distance from me!

DH has unknowingly assisted with the SP today! He had been to Mr S to buy a few groceries for work (out of his own business account so didn't cost us anything) and got one of those money off your next shop coupons as his branded shop cost more there. He was clearing out his wallet earlier and was about to chuck it in the bin:eek: I noticed it was still in date so quickly grabbed it! That's £2.20 of free shopping for me! :D

I had a wee look at the website Kerri, its got a lot of good advice on there. My OH says if I get chickens he's out of here lol.

Sometimes I go for months at a time not buying anything much, but I do watch out for special offers and go and get as many as I can afford/space permitting/and if I will use /by date.
This site is great as there's many eyes on the market place , and your always able to pick up a bargain.
I'm really into Am@zon's grocery section at the moment, particularly for dry goods and heavy items. I've had some unbelievable bargains from there. I got a baking soda book for 1p the other day + delivery of course but even so it was 1/5th of the price.
I don't think 2nd pursing is about living cheaply or frugally, I do a lot of the things on that website, but there's a lot of foodstuffs I refuse to skimp on , I buy organic where I can, and the best meat I can. And all my favourite products.

From years of doing the 2nd Purse I know that everything on my list comes round on offer eventually, there's 2-3 brands of shampoo etc; I buy so there's always one on offer somewhere, so don't panic.
Build your purse up and when those bargains appear you will have the money to pay for them.

Everyone is doing so well, once the money starts to spill over to the 3rd Purse, it builds up quickly. It took me a year to get to that stage when I first started.
Even with a small stock , the first thing you will notice is you will be spending less on your weekly shop.

Im still swithering about buying the printer lol, I want it but will most likely wait until I see an absolute bargain, not necessarily a cheap printer but one that isn't too costly to run. I bought a new one last year and used two lots of ink cleaning the heads, then bought cheap ink and it wouldn't work.

Ooh, just been onto mySM comparison site and this just goes to show how this challenge has got me hooked already....

I got ridiculously excited to see that the Ci11it B@ng I've just run out of and always use is on B1G1F at Mr S from today! I nearly paid £2 for some in Mr T yesterday but so glad I decided to wait until I did my grocery shopping, I'll be stocking up on that!

On another plus I eat for free at lunch time today as a few people from work are retiring at the end of the month and a buffet lunch is being laid on. Mmmm... Free food!!

Hope everyone has a good day.

My SP printer has arrived and I love it! Well......I COULD have been funded by my SP but it wasn't ;)

Ordered Sunday afternoon and arrived Tuesday lunchtime. Half the size of my old 3 in 1 and I got it up and running all on my own......woohoo and it was down to £25 so double woohoo :D

Used 2 of the Wrights coupons in Sainsbugs on the self service till and they worked perfectly - most coupons set the bells ringing in my local branch! :rotfl:

This might be useful for any Sainsbugs shoppers here....

I went in to get some diet coke (1/2 price) but the offer labels were gone and it was full price on the SEL

I thought the new prices started on Weds, so cornered a SA who said that they are allowed to change SEL from 2pm the day before, but the prices shouldnt change until midnight Tuesday.....

Sure enough, diet coke marked at full price still going through 1/2 price - worth knowing if you are a last minute shopper like me :D
