  • I made biscuits today (using same ingredients DS2 had used at school and his instructions :)) and I reckon it cost me about 60p for 15 biscuits - they are yummy and taste like shortbread so I'm defo going to made them again. I cooked them in oven at the same time as our lunch so :money:.

I'm just wondering who this strange biscuit-making, cushion-mending, money-saving person is and where has Mrs Addicted to Spending gone :rotfl:?

  • That's so true Mothership!

Been Counting and Muffin Man 7 - here is the recipe (and it's very easy that's why I could do it :rotfl:).

150g plain flour, 100g butter, 50g caster sugar. Sieve flour into bowl and add sugar and butter (cubed). Use fingers to mix all ingredients together to create a crumbly mixture and then add a tiny bit of water so that you can create a dough-like mixture. Roll this out on a floured surface using a rolling pin and cut round shapes out using a pastry cutter. Put onto greased baking tray in oven set at 180 degrees and cook for about 12 minutes - they are cooked when you press them lightly and your finger doesn't leave a permanent mark (not a very technical description, I know!) x

Spent 20 mins looking for recipe for the biscuits, as could have sworn it was a few pages back and couldn't find it so in the end gave up. :( Came on here (some 2 hours later) to see what everyone had posted and lo and behold the recipe was the last post:j. Quickly made them and they are yummy! Still room for improvement coz even an easy recipe like this one is quite complex for me:p, but they taste nice and the kids like them.... so happy dayz:T:T

Thanks for the recipe Addicted :T- just need to perfect it now:rotfl::rotfl:

edit: just to let everyone know that today I also tried the bread and butter pudding (looks lush, but that is for desert so haven't tried it yet), and an apple pie - ooh get me!:rotfl::rotfl: Also made a lamb stew (Mothership's recipe, thank you:T) and a lamb balti (from a jar, sorry not got that adventurous with curry just yet:o). Before though I would have used all the lamb on one recipe and either put some in the freezer or had it for a few meals, but today split it in half, stretched it out with some oats and have enough for 2 different meals for 4 people and most probably enough left over to freeze - so I must be getting better at all of this - oh yes and it's fun too, now that I am a professional shopper:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying!:rotfl:

    Evening everyone

Doing 3rd purse slightly different, due to have a stock pile thanks to DTD days last year and MOCs.

But decided instead of just getting items out of Suns Flower Shop I would buy items for £1.

Just counted up my 3rd purse and it stands at £50.00 :j:T:j

    Cant believe it :D

And still stocking it when offers are on :money:
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it. :)

    Weight loss 3 stone :D
