Cool. Can all those not born here stop paying taxes also?Butterfly_Brain wrote: »If you are not born here you should not be entitled to free health care, free schools, housing or benefits of any kind.
Yes, that just leaves the native spongers :rotfl:Butterfly_Brain wrote: »That would whittle out the spongers0 -

That is a conspiracy.
for gods sake, was that the same day that cameron admitted sleeping with a martian?0 -
Let's be honest.
Before we start having a go at foreigners why don't we look at ourselves.
Chav's, long term lazy unemployed, lying sick benefit claiments, unmarried mothers with multiple fathers.
Until society gets back some values it all won't make any difference.

All asylum should be stopped because most come in from Europe and claim asylum here just for the benefits.

Agree with you when it comes for the people who arrived here in the last 15 years (i.e. basically during labour's time in power). (There are also eastern Europeans who come here specifically to have sprogs, then claim benefits for them when they return to their countries. This is an outrageous scam at the taxpayer's expense.)
However, I take issue with your remark that if you are not born here you should not be entitled to free health care, etc, which is issued as a blanket statement. My parents and grandparents settled here as part of the relatively small number of Polish armed forces who had been in POW camps in Germany during the Second World War. They could not go back during the communist era (my grandfather certainly would not have survived). Are you suggesting that people such as this are sent back to their countries of origin? (BTW, they – and their children – have always been useful, productive citizens and have never claimed free housing benefits, etc.)0 -
What exactly are you taking issue with in what he posted? Barroso was, openly, a Maoist. It's not disputed. Similarly, most NGOs, quangos etc are indeed politically driven.
It's pretty dumb to mock a factually correct post.
Err, Barroso was a Maoist when he was a student in the 1970s. Bit of a leap to get from that to some grand conspiracy 40 years later.0 -
Wake me up when we move onto the lizard race.
I'll let you argue amongst yourselves before I open up the truth

Three thoughts.
1/ How much of that murderous demagogue's ideological baggage do you suppose he still carries?
2/ Why is it acceptable to have once been a follower of Mao - reputed to have killed between 40 and 70 million people - when, had Barroso chosen to follow Hitler instead, he would today be an international pariah?
3/ I note you backed away from pretence that NGOs etc are not political0 -

1) I have absolutely no idea. And nor do you. Although he is now a member of what is regarded as a liberal conservative center right property.
2) I don't have any agreement with Communism/Maoism, but I suspect the reason it is a little more acceptable is that on a theoretical basis it doesn't involve the racial discrimination and superiority of Facism. Just because he was in a student party that followed the theory doesn't mean he condoned the genocide of the Cultural Revolution.
3) I don't think I argued that they weren't?0 -

But you wouldn't say the same had he been a supporter of the Far Right, would you? I see no reason to believe his judgement is any better now than it was then.2) I don't have any agreement with Communism/Maoism, but I suspect the reason it is a little more acceptable is that on a theoretical basis it doesn't involve the racial discrimination and superiority of Facism. Oh, so they just pretended it didn't happen while generally approving of Chinese agrarian reform, is that the idea? I've heard some misreable excuses but as an example of the Left's selective moral blindness that's one of the best.3) I don't think I argued that they weren't?
You sneered at Road Hog's perfectly reasonable point that they do, indeed, have a political edge.0
