We need to close our borders and start looking out for our own instead of watering down what we do have to the detriment of our own population.0

Of this figure, 54% were now British citizens and most others had an immigration status that meant they were eligible for benefits
So the majority have made a long term commitment to the country. I'm not sure just a blanket "closing of the borders" will help in the long term.
"Mr Grayling said: "It is not acceptable that people from other countries can claim our benefits if they have not worked or paid tax in the UK."
This is what we need in reality. If you move to this country you need to earn the right to claim benefits IMO.
It would be interesting to know what proportion of this 370,000 have been claiming for say over 90% of the time since they moved here.0 -
Well, the opening statement says "More than 370,000 migrants who were admitted to Britain to work, study or go on holiday are now claiming out-of-work benefits, according to official figures compiled for the first time."
Paid holidays in the UK. Nice 'work' if you can get it.0 -
I don't get why we (as a country) are so poor at making decisions about immigration, why do we seem incapable of stopping people who are not eligible to migrate here from coming and then staying? Personally I would take an extreme approach, block anyone until we have sorted the system out.0

because if you say anything, the screaming lefty will shout you down, calling you a racist, xenophobe, little englander, unenlightened etc. maybe even homophobic for good order.
don't you realise, it is great for our multicultural society that the local primary is full of somalians. you can't put a price on that. the fact most guardian reading hypocrites send their kids private is neither here nor there. the main issue is that they can buy some wonderful imported cheeses in the local multi cultured shops.
meanwhile in London and surrounding areas there are already 300,000 more kids than primary places. and if you ask the lefty, despite in most inner city primaries english is not even the third language, the immigrants have nothing to do with it.
just keep coming, pay nothing and keep taking. that is the lefty way. don't worry, the filthy workers will pay from their taxes for everything because the working man is the real criminal.

One, the country now makes very few of the decisions, our government just implements them and pretends they thought it up. Like Cameron getting tough on drug driving, but actually it is part of a forthcoming EU directive.
But, specifically on immigration, it is a deliberate ploy. The Lefties don't like sovereign countries or any idea of nationalism/patriotism (I don't mean being a BNP supporter, I mean being proud of your country, it's culture, heritage, achievements and general surroundings/community). So by swamping the country with immigrants we dilute the attachment to the country and create a sort of despair. Despair is good, because it is like a form of depression, it saps your willpower and want to do anything about it.
The last current and previous head of the UKBA were Common Purpose graduates, which is a communitarian organisation (a form of Marxism). It is no accident that the UKBA is so inept, it is a deliberate plan of action.
But on the righthand side of politics, immigration suits them, because it causes wage deflation, so you end up with a convergence on the political spectrum. It happens on many other issues, like 'green' policies, the Lefties want windfarms the people of the right own the businesses that make the wind turbines, so it's taxpayer subsidies and much profit for them. It's why there appears to be not much political difference between the LibLabCon, they're all pursuing the same agenda.
Of course it doesn't just happen with immigration, it happens in other areas, like the judiciary, where lenient and non existent sentences are handed out all the time. It creates a confusion (and despair), because the normal logic of the world, good and bad seems turned on its head.
It's all part of the post democratic era policy. Yep Google, in fact I'll give one link.

It's just one part of the great plan, for us. Nobody is hiding, it's all there if you look.
Sadly, when you tell people these things, you tend to get one of three responses.
a) you're a conspiracy theorist - well no, it isn't a conspiracy if it is actually happening and the evidence is all around you
b) agreement - but they're to lazy to wake up and go back to X-Factor
c) agreement - but they get frightened and go back to X-Factor for comfort.
You mainly get answer 'a' because of the conditioning media programming (especially the BBC). You only had to listen to Nicky Campbell of 5Live this morning bandying around words like to xenophobia etc. to tell us that we are racists if we object to mass immigration.0 -
None of this is a conspiracy. It's because everyone is utterly incompetent.
I'd say that's the more frightening situation, hence why "it's a conspiracy" is a comfort blanket for some people.0 -
Wasn't there a time when the Netherlands was seen by the British (and other nationalities) as a benefit haven?
And didn't they change their criteria to thwart benefit tourism or am I mis-remembering?0 -
A year or so ago, the Labour Party admitted opening the gates in order to create and exploit the immigrant vote.None of this is a conspiracy. It's because everyone is utterly incompetent.
That is a conspiracy."Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0 -
Ah ... Common Purpose. A most interesting and shadowy organisation. The last current and previous head of the UKBA were Common Purpose graduates, which is a communitarian organisation (a form of Marxism).
One of its governing tenets is 'Leading Beyond Authority', in other words, ignoring both the law and the wishes of the electorate."Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0
