I find the worst culprits are packs of cooked meat. Sometimes only 2 or 3 days left on them. I look at every date before the packs go in my trolley. I usually find milk and yogurts have good long dates on them but still check anyway!

That's good advice wherever you shop.:)
I chucked out the Aldi/Lidl meat I had in the freezer, Lidl Strathvale brand gammon steaks were disgusting. Shopping for food Sainsbury/Waitrose/Morrisons from now on, the cheapies are OK for cleaning products

Your money, your choice but it's not something I would have done. I'd have chopped them up into soup or some other recipe.

What do you want, a nice scent or nice soft clothes? Just because other products are heavily scented doesn't mean they're good. I do agree that some do smell lovely but the priority for me is softness.
If your priority is feel then you should not use softener at all. Horrible greasy stuff (every brand).

Really puzzled at the negative comments on the Aldi/Lidl meat. Most of the Aldi meat has the British Tractor mark, as does most of the milk and a lot of the yogurt. The filtered milk lasts way past the use-by date in my experience, in fact the only milk that tends not to do this (i.m.e.) is whole milk, i.e. full - fat.
Like Quoia, I have bought reduced milk and it's been fine for a good few days past the use-by. Better to grab a bargain than to see it poured down a drain.

Lidl have 1kg packs of risotto rice for not much more than the 500g packs in Sainsbury's and Tescos.
This was on half price offer, perhaps 3 months ago? I picked up a stack, it's great for making rice pudding :)

Seemed to be quite a lot of price reductions when I was at Aldi earlier. I guess they must be expecting further battles in the price war.

    Pork Mince 500g £1.49
    Cured Chicken Slices 400g £1.49
    Basic Frozen Pizzas 79p

There were more... can't remember them all, and the degu has made off with my receipt. :D

aww love degues! now, what was I intending to post????????????

oh yes - I normally buy ordinary cocoa (use it for baking and drinks) but Granddaughters asked for the Choceur Instant Drinking Chocolate. Now having tried the Badburys one (disgusting), I wasn't keen, but bought it for them. Tried it myself - and its really nice!

    What is a degu?

Aldi's Apple and pear barley squash is refreshing.
