    Like you, I'm a convert!!

What supermassive has done is raised the issue that not all Aldi's seem to have the same range of stock and it does seem to be a bit more than size of store. I'm fortunate that mine seems to be one of the good ones and it's kept quite clean too. Recently you do seem to have to negotiate pallets a lot in the aisles but that's because they're restocking as quickly as they can when deliveries arrive. Our staff are very polite and helpful too.

Didn't get out today so missing my Friday bottle of Cremant du Jura tonight.;)

All our local Aldi's have recently had a refit to extend the fruit & veg area, as well as adding more chiller cabinets so the range of goods has been extended somewhat across both departments. Maybe the store(s) in Grimsby haven't been done yet. Other than that, I've seen very little variation in the products stocked as standard and I've visited several stores nationwide, both in the North as well as the South.

Back to what the thread is about.

    I'm currently drinking thishttps://www.aldi.co.uk/en/product-range/drinks/wine-cellar/white-wine/white-wine-product-detail-page/ps/p/andara-chilean-sauvignon-blanc/

Nice wine. Ignore the one star review as this wine is liked by many of my friends

Tesco scores negative 'buzz' rating as discounters dominate attention of shoppers

    http://www.thegrocer.co.uk/channels/supermarkets/tesco-scores-negative-buzz-rating-as-discounters-dominate-attention-of-shoppers/512067.article

Aldi and Lidl top the list of best performing brands - Tesco trail at number 1138 (the only major supermarket with a negative score).

Tesco must be tearing their hair out as they become less and less popular - and Aldi and Lidl more and more popular!
  • I have at last opened the L'Esprit D'Orange I bought for Xmas from Aldi (why did I buy so much booze!!) and I have to say, after great expectations, I was not impressed. No orange taste to it at all and far too sweet. One of the few things I wouldn't buy again from Aldi.

IIRC, the Orange liqueur has been mentioned before as a poor buy.

Shame, as the Amaretto is really nice, and so much cheaper than Disaronno.

I do the bulk of my shopping at Aldi but find I have to keep a close eye on dates as some items might only have a few days on them.

Hmmm.... I'm now wondering about putting a few drops of Amaretto on my Aldi 99p Stollen. :j
