I tried a packet of L's Deluxe chilled fresh pasta yesterday and it was very nice indeed. for about £ 1.10 (I think) a packet that just about feeds 2 girls for a light lunch it was expensive but with a bit of Truffels inside it was quite a treat. Very delicate pasta parcels, I couldn't make them better myself. They probably are one of the Christmas specials so won't be around for long.

Funny I had this for a shared lunch too this afternoon. I wouldn't normally eat this kind of thing but it was nice with salt, pepper, a drizzle of sundried tomato oil and some fresh basil. £1.19 IIRC.

Aldi cocktail sausage rolls. 50 for £1. Frozen, uncooked.

Small & very tasty, Good puff pastry and a reasonable amount of meat. Very easy to cook.

Looking forward to the 12 mini eclairs, too. :)

My DGD's used to love the small frozen cheese and onion rolls they used to sell. I had forgotten about them, I must check if they still sell them. Does anybody know?

I got some of the mini eclairs last year. Tasty little treat.

  • I am after some fruit and nut mix to top my Xmas cake. Do Aldi do a range with larger nuts like Brazils in and what is it like ?

They do Brazil's, almonds, pistachios in shells and walnuts but not pecans IIRC. The packs tend to be on the smallish side. I think there is a fruit and nut mix in the same section, but again small packs and there is always the risk of peanuts being used to bulk out the weight.

So pleased. I had to put together Christmas hampers for some of the families our church is working with to help them get their finances back on track. Got so much food from Aldi for the budget - especially as I used a £15 Mirror voucher.

Amazing prices - especially as they've reduced a few Christmas bits now like the choc reindeer and the Feel Good posh fizzy.

Our Aldi has a selection of nuts and dried fruits on the biscuits, crisps and cereals aisle as well as with the savoury biscuits. Currently shelled whole Brazils and almonds are available separately, as well as nut mixes. The quality is excellent.

Aldi Alska Swedish Fruit Cider (Nordic Berries) £1.59

Intensely fruity but very dry cider. Excellent VFM.
