Not Aldi, I'm afraid - switched to Lidl this week. They had some rather nice sweet corn at 20p a cob.

We had four of those, lovely microwaved, then put under a hot grill to colour.
Then simply put a little butter on.

I bought a bicycle pump at Aldi during their last cycling promotion at the start of July.
The pump handle has buckled and the pumpy bit has clamped onto the bike tube and pulled the valve off. I haven't been able to find the receipt (even though I usually keep receipts forever) but still have the packaging. Do you think A will refund/exchange for it?
    TIA

Have enjoyed Aldi's sparkling chardonnay after reading a Jane McQuitty review. Not cheap (£7.49?) and not champagne but makes a nice alternative to Prosecco or cava. Quite dry and very pleasant.
  • Went to Aldi today, but couldn't park. Been going for years and this was the first time it happened :(.

Gave up and went to Lidl instead. Bought a three fish pie, cod, salmon and smoked haddock. It was about £5.69, but sounds lovely.

take it back - Aldi knows which brands they sell. and its faulty.
  • I was in Tesco on Friday and they had the tubs of Heros/Celebrations etc, I usually buy one of these at Christmas, so my question is do Aldi do their own equivalent?

Is it only my local Lidl which doesn't stock the normal bread flour (greenish bag, 75p for 1.5kg) anymore? I couldn't find it for the 2nd week in a row. The label on the shelf for it disappeared too. So it didn't look like they just run out of it.

Usually it is next to the wholemeal bread flour (brownish bag, 99p for 1.5kg), which is still there.

IIRC, they usually have their own stocks of branded chocolate for Christmas. However, both Aldi & Lidl have extensive chocolate ranges - at least as much as a big supermarket. Most of what I've tried has been excellent. (I particularly like Aldi mini-bars - the praline & marzipan flavours).

Lidl - Sweet and Sour Chicken

in the ready meal fridge section.

it is the best ready meal i have ever had [and i am not normally forthcoming with praise for ready meals]

you can microwave it or put it in the oven [which i do].
the chicken is really lovely and moist, no grisly bits.
    no nasty additives either

I had really gone off the taste of chicken in a ready meal and have not bought one for a long long time but for the price I thought I would try Lidl Thai chicken ready meal.

Agree with the above - it was really nice. Much better than other branded or supermarket chicken ready meals. Only reason I did not buy the sweet and sour was because I don't like egg fried rice but I guess I could just not eat that part.

Ooh! thanks for the reminder it'll soon be time for Stollen:D I wonder if they'll have messed about with the price, the size or both this year!
