A colleague bought some chantaney carrots from Aldi. The following day, they were mushy.

I must be lucky with my Aldi as I don't have problems with their fruit and veg.

I think anyone who has this problem should take the item back, if enough people complain, they might do something about it.

I think sometimes the carrots get packed wet. This happened to me a few weeks ago but generally everything's fine. I agree about complaining. I find them very obliging whenever I've needed to.

yes you do have to be sure the carrots in the bag are dry - if they are wet just take them out dry them and store in a cloth or paper bag - or even loose and they will keep for ages.

She did that. Put a sheet of kitchen roll on a tray to put the carrots from the packet to dry for about three hours. Still went mushy

I always buy Aldi carrots and have kept them successfully in the fridge for weeks!

Same here. I've also noticed it's the same people over and over that complain. Makes one wonder... ;)

As this had come up for Aldi - today I saw some packets of meat on top of the freezer at Lidl. Someone else mentioned them to the store assistant and she felt the packets, thanked the customer and said, "We'll have to bin it now, it's too warm". Reassuring, I thought. Thumbs up.

Its a start - but not so reassurring. As no-one knew how long they had been lying there , they should have been automatically binned. Not down to the opinion of a SA of their temperature.
  • Normally I buy the Aldi version of Jacobs Mini Cheddars. Yesterday I tried the original Jacobs ones and I like the Aldi rip off so much more! They taste a lot cheesier.
