Aldi has officially stopped being cheaper for me.

It's all the extras which suck me in.

Bought a new bread maker and silicon cake case today. £35 I'd not have spent in Tesco.

The loaf I made tonight was lovely though...

I know what you mean. Last week I bought two tents and a sleeping bad (my daughter is going to a couple of festivals this summer) and the total for all three was probably more than I spent on food that week! They're not daft are they? Those "little" add ons soon add up ;) x

Did you see the robotic vacuum cleaner? Had to resist that one - succeeded thankfully on that internal battle!

Bought a BBQ cover a few weeks back - why?! Our BBQ is well past being covered. :o

I have to admit I was curious and almost succumbed.

Then, having seen this video on YouTube, I would have to invest in a cat (and shark costume). With that and the incumbent vet bills I would have been out of pocket by £thousands.

There's a rumour that Aldi will start organic milk soon. Their marketing people must have realised how many Waitrose exiles have been visiting.

Our Aldi in NE England has had 2 pint bottles of organic semi-skimmed milk for a while now. 89p as against 2 pints of ordinary semi-skimmed at 79p.

Odd, I was lucky to get the last two copies of the D@ily Mirror at the corner shop at 11.45 this morning - all other newspapers still on shelves - and yet the items on the coupons were still on the shelves in Aldi.

The risotto on 50% coupon this week is really flavoursome for anyone who hasn't tried it, and doesn't have to be continually stirred like standard risotto. I usually add flaked tuna or ham bits.

The odd brand name does appear at Aldi - I spotted Special K chocolate Biscuit Moments at 99p a pack, with an offer of a free beach bag for 3 packs. They are really pleasant in texture unlike many similar low-calorie products.

They do them in Small, Medium and Large, but I have trouble getting Medium in my Aldi. Think you need to stock up when you finally see them as the most popular sizes go quickly.

I bought them and was pleasantly surprised at the quality and also of the fact that it was a two-pair pack. Large isn't too large compared with some makes, though. I have long fingers and they suit me fine.
