Good and bad buys from Aldi and Lidl

we had the half-price bbq ribs from Lidl at the weekend. A good amount in the packet for under £ 1.50 and quite nice but the sauce tasted almost Chinese, sweetish and mild. We might get these again when we have a BBQ even at full price.First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0

tried a carton of this aldi product, from chiller cabinet. Appleby farm or something.
Pork is cooked for 40 mins in oven then taken out and pulled apart with 2 forks until shredded. Then open sachet of sauce, pour over and put back in oven for another 5 mins.
It was delicious - really tender, although the sauce (I think barbeque flavour) was extremely peppery hot, too hot for my taste really. Next time would use a different sauce to the one supplied but would def buy product again.
Can thoroughly recommend.
Quantity - serves 2 or 3 if meaner with portions as we were.

Thanks, I've not seen this in my Aldi store but maybe I've overlooked it. I've just ordered some from my butcher which I know is amazing so would be great to compare prices“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

Maybe you could have stated this was for Lidl and not Aldi. I got all excited for nothing“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
People must have already mentioned Aldi's 85% cocoa chocolate - £1.09 for 125g in five little bars, and delicious! All their Moser Roth chocolates are really good. As I'm dairy-free I also appreciate that they stock cakes, biscuits & pies without dairy ingredients: usually the cheaper ones, and very nice
Bread flour's good - some bakers say it's the purest on the market, whatever that means - at 99p for 1.5kg. Home baking ingredients here: https://www.aldi.co.uk/en/product-range/fresh-bakery/home-baking/ingredients/
I'm moving soon, and one of my criteria is 'within walking distance of an Aldi'0 -

£2.69 for Pulled Pork shoulder & Half rack of ribs
Both of these are introductory offers and will go up to £2.99 in due course. I've tried both and absolutely love them!0 -

I buy the 70% every week and it's excellent. I love the fact that there are 5 little bars. So it's a small chocolate hit a day for under 22p!0 -
