I've been paying with card in Scotland (both A & L) for as long as I can remember...
Went into both today , Aldi for wine (price went up for my favourite from 2.99 to 3.09 but I think that's just about tolerable
Lidl for their weekend sprecial offer of red peppers at 32 p !!!! each and they are HUGE, so I bought 10 and a few other staples (babywipes, real feta cheese, bananas)First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0 -

Just do top ups with cash at the moment at lidl. Not everywhere. Even in London some do, some don't.
I wouldn't call that "budgeting"...
I agree, would you explain how you budget with a CC? And why top up shopping?0 -

I usually budget with a credit card too. Shopping at Aldi means I now have to have available cash/debit balance which has completely changed the dynamics of my finances. Quite annoying to be honest as I've already experienced a problem with their banking errors wheerby I was considerably overcharged twice which could have caused significant problems had there not been sufficient funds in that particular account. Such a situation simply wouldn't occur when using a credit card.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Recently there was an offer at Morrisons for shredded cheese 250g it was half price I was going to buy it but I called in Lidl first and they had Simply shredded cheese £1.99 for 450g so that seemed much better value to me so that's what I bought and it was delicious it's always worth checking Lidl and Aldi you can save some serious money and the quality is excellent.Low Carb High Fat is the way forward I lost 80 lbs
Since first using Martins I have saved thousands0 -

as you are just talking cheese I remembered the utterly lovely flavoured bries at Aldi. I've never seen them anywhere else but get one each time I'm in, especially the garlic one.
On a different note, some months in the year they also have large bottles of their own brand of cloudy washing up liquid, one is bamboo and the other lavender. Lovely scents.First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0 -
