Just had an Aldi Indian Takeaway for 2 - found in the fresh section, two meat dishes, rice for 2 and 2 nann breads, for £3.99 it was excellent - Tescos equivalent is £7.50

My only complaint with Aldi's Indian meal for 2 is the dish the curries are in. It's one dish with two compartments. I live alone and obviously don't have both curries the same day. Other supermarket's curry bags have the curries in separate dishes.

presumably it helps keep the cost down.

If my memory serves me right, we cut them apart with a pair of scissors.

And then froze the one we did not need at the time.

(O H is not keen on Indian meals)
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

For fans of the Aldi Lacura Aqua, Restorative or Renew multi-intensive facial serums, £3.49 (voted as a Best Buy across various surveys and trials many times) they have been temporarily withdrawn as there was a problem with the pump action containers apparently. They will be back.
    This is 'insider info'. :)

If it's the serum in the glass bottle I've had a problem with the pump ever since it came on the market. Could never use it all up. Great if they're going to sort it.
  • On the topic of soup, they had 6 packs of Heinz tomato soup for £2.99 last week, which I thought was a great deal.

When you do that, you need to wrap the other meal with clingfilm or foil as the film is only heat sealed around the whole pot, not around the individual curries.

What are people's opinion on the fresh meat at Aldi, noticed their chicken breasts are much cheaper than Asda and Tesco, what's the quality like?

What I've bought I've been happy with: chicken breast, FR chickens, gammon joints, steaks, extra lean mince. I'd give the a try if I were you.

    Regularly buy Aldi fresh meat.

Chicken breasts are well jointed, and rarely any bone in them. We freeze on day of purchase, so can't comment on how long they last in the fridge. No noticable difference to Tesco, bar the price.

Gammon and beef joints also good. As with any supermarket, you have to look through to see which ones have less fat running through them, but again no noticable difference to Tesco, bar the price.

Always buy their free range whole chickens as well. Full of flavour, and enough meat on the bird to last for a few meals.
