I usually by Charming or Tesco/Asda own.
Though I suspect it's actually more expensive than Charmin when Charmin's on offer.0 -
Interesting - what makes toilet roll good? How is the quality judged? I have no idea myself, cheap is fine for me and as I have a septic tank, the cheap stuff rots down best. I'm not sure I would use any other measure other than 'cheapness' as I tend to feel I might just as well throw fivers down the loo.
Aldi's is definitely not the cheapest for many things, so can't always assume it. But the moisturisers have to be some of the cheapest, the dark blue one is great (don't like the turquoise one as much) but like everything else, it's all a matter of personal choice. I wish they hadn't stopped some of their make up ranges, I loved the shimmering moisture cream, the mascara and the powder in those silver containers. The mascara looked like a bullet, gorgeous. Sadly missed.0 -

Cheapest doesn't always mean money saving. The cheapest toilet rolls last 5 minutes in my house, so I end up buying twice as much.( if not more)
A money saving toilet roll is one that last as long as the expensive brand but is cheaper.0 -
Normally I'd agree, however when my children were young they would use the expensive stuff for wrapping presents for friends, making sheets and pillows for the dolls house, making paper puzzles, drawing on, using as rags for ringlets, making parachutes etc etc. It went really quickly and was mostly wasted really. Now I'm on my own the tenforapoundoffthemarket rolls last massively longer than 2 for the same price supermarket ones.0

Died and gone to heaven with this...
Raisins really soaked in rum, chocolate is sooooo good. Full of nuts. Why did I ever pick it up as a Cmas treat?
Oh wow. Just wow !!!!You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Not that keen on Bagels, but bought a pack in case my daughter and partner wanted one while visiting over New Year.
They have been lurking unopened in the bread bin since then, tried one today , it says pierce pack and micro, but that`s the 4. I put one in my halogen 2 mins turning over half way, cut through spread with cream cheese. they are lovely.Do I need it or just want it.0 -

I agree so toilet roll is one of the few things on my "no compromise list". I just find the cheaper the paper the more you have to use to avoid any unpleasant "break through" incidents
I always look out for offers on the biggest packs of Triple Velvet at Asda and buy it then
EDIT: forgot to mention I needed a new retractable lead for the dog and just got one in Lidl for £6.99. It feels really sturdy and good quality and it was half the price I was going to have to pay in Pets at Home0 -

It's the same with washing up liquid. The supermarkets' value stuff is not concentrated, does not cut through grease or tough stains, leaves a horrible finish to your plate and only lasts a week. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I find the Aldi Lucura (sp?) day cream very heavy and not so keen on it but the night cream much lighter and I much prefer it. I use it during the daytime. It's strange because I always thought the night cream was the heavy of the two. I also use the roll on eye serum which is good. I also use the Aldi roll on anti perspirant and it's fine.0

Tried some Aldi mini Melton Mowbray pork pies yesterday. The pastry was awful.Looked good-nicely browned on the outside but was glutinous and horrible to eat.Well within date.Bad batch or just a bad product?0
