If I could just add that Wilkinsons are doing two 80 wipe packs for a quid just now!

Sorry, should be 60 wipe packs.
  • I tried the Aldi moisturising night cream last week and have to say that I thought it was awful. I know it was only £1.99 but it was so heavy and greasy. It sat on my skin like a mask until I decided that I had to wash it off as it was so unpleasant. So, sadly I have gone back to Nivea's version or any other of the big names when they are reduced.

I might give it a go then. My skin has become v dry since I turned 40 so the more I can slather on, the better! :o

  • I love the Aldi moisturising cream. I ran out recently and used some L'Oreal I had bought. It was awful, it was like wallpaper paste and brought me out in a rash. It went in the bin

I'm perfectly happy with it but my skin tends to dryness too. The Body Lotion is great too. I buy the anti-ageing one in the maroon bottle.

True - probably because Aldi has gone out of its way to woo the middle classes, the chatterati, the Guardian readers and the Waitrose customers.

And the £5 off Mirror vouchers cover everyone else! :D

I don't disagree but I do think that Aldi has a wider range than Lidl. I began to get suspicious because my Aldi shop seemed to have risen in price over the last few months. Then I realised that the number of items I'm having to top up in Sainsbury's has correspondingly shrunk.

I still go to Lidl occasionally and top up on the luxury muesli that is DH's favourite and dishwasher stuff as I'm impressed with the packaging of the salt.

I think the quality of products in aldi is better than in lidl, its got nothing to do with the 5 quid off voucher which I dont always use as I dont often spend 40 quid at a time. If I do use it I'll split the shopping with my mum, neither of us drive and its easier all round as Im not having to carry tons of shopping home on the bus.

Ive never really been fussed on lidl. I have shopped there, but once or twice a year max.

I expect the info I am looking for is here somewhere, but with over 1,100 post I thought I would just ask.

Can anyone tell me if any of the Aldi toilet rolls are ok. We have only had an Aldi for a couple of months and my pre Aldi stock pile is getting low.

I usually buy Charmin or Tesco/Asda own.

    Thanks OMO.

They're fine,as good as anything else but there are cheaper out there, there's a brand you can get in Farmfoods that a lot of people like, can't remember the name. Personally the cheaper the better considering what happens to them! Treble quilted with pretty pictures is great for a duvet but who cares when it's toilet roll!

They are called Nicky, but we don't have a Farmfoods or Home-bargains here. The cost of getting there out ways any savings I would make.
