Weren't they on Watchdog a couple of years ago doing exactly the same?0 -

The company did issue a statement. It was the usual blather about him not being a typical representative of the company Etc. Etc. They said the same about him last time, but still promoted him. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

I'm going to see if it's on iplayer0 -
My partner applied for a job at Puresleep, Crosshands. At the start of the week he was told that the wage was 7.50 an hour, 35 hours a week. If he got a lead and sold a bed it would be an extra 10 per sale. On friday afternoon he was called into the office, told it was a trial period. This wasn't mentioned at the start of the week. Then the MD handed him a cheque for 150 for 35 hours work. My partner was then told by the MD that he doesn't put anyone on the books for at least a month, and this was the going rate! BELOW MINIMUM WAGE!!!!! Not only does he con old people out of money, he cons the workers too!!! I've now seen that he's advertising on the Jobcentre website!!!
PLEASE READ REGARDING PURESLEEP, CROSS HANDS.
I am absolutely reeling from all of this - I was almost taken in by this lot - who by the way are now trading as "HEALTHY DAYS", who's Head Office is apparently in Sheffield. But basically it is still in the Puresleep Office in Cross Hands, using the same cold calling techniques - however this time it is to tell the so called "customers", that they completed a Survey 12-18mnths ago, stating that they had either Aches & Pains or Arthritis. They are expecting totally untrained people to ask Medical Questions to try and build up a rapport so as to gain the trust of the person on the end of the phone. The strange thing about these "so called" people completeing these surveys, are that they could be all neighbours in the same street - but co-incidentally all Retired/OAP's. To me it seems they get electoral rolls of certain areas & take out the households that do not fit their criteria.
It is scandalous and I will be getting in touch with Trading Standards & may consider the local press as well, as I am totally disgusted at their tactics.
If anyone has an elderly relative - I would urge them to register their phone not to accept calls with the number with-held, as when they dial out the number is automatically with-held.

You're quite right. Healthydays are passing themselves off as a new company but I'm fully aware that one of the directors there actually worked for puresleep.
I urge you to contact trading standards asap to get them shut down. It's ridiculous that they're still allowed to be doing these high pressure sales.0 -
MTM are More Than Mobility, same company as Powermatic Adjustable Beds, same as [TEXT DELETED BY ABUSE TEAM FOLLOWING COMPLAINT]. I agree with everything you say about them. I have sent you a personal message - click at the top of this page, near where it gives the time.
If this was fairly recently the victim will have 7 days from when the stuff is delivered to cancel. Could your nan tell this lady that? She should get on to her local Trading Standards asap. She should immediately cancel the cheque - tell the bank she thinks it may be fraud, they may be helpful. I am happy to do whatever I can to help.
Ye Gods............a thread about More Than Mobility. I've got plenty to say about that !!!!!!! firm.
Google all 3 firms that I know for sure are part of this vile group viz mobilityequipment.co.uk, More Than Mobility of Plymouth, and MT Mobility of Northampton. Google Moer Than Mobility Leeds and read mirror story on page 2
Someone, who shall be nameless as yet, bought More Than Mobility when it went into liquidation last October but is still trading under those names........now where the hell have I heard THAT before?????
anyone bought stuff from any of these 3 firm?0 -
Blagger.com is a site where you can post/find negative feedback on companies.
The problem is that sites are responsible for their content. All a company has to do is say that the comments made are libelous and the site will probably remove them or suspend the thread.
MSE has done this lots of times - including the main Powermatic Beds / More Than Mobility (Leeds co) thread. They do not have the time or resources to check into every claim of libel.

In the case of Powermatic / More Than Mobility (based in Leeds not other co's similar names), time has proved that the directors - Goor, Bryan, O'Reilly - are scammers of the highest order. Hopefully there will be some criminal charges to come and these people will be jailed - certainly other directors have been jailed for a lot less.
It would be nice if there were a list of rogue traders, but unfortunately it would be both open to abuse by rival firms and claims of libel by the dodgy traders.0 -
It seems that a company from Leeds (surprise surprise) are phoning up offering to visit you with the Wave pad to help with your "arthritis and aches and pains that we all have from time to time" sound familiar?! I have just had such a call despite being on the telephone preference list to avoid such calls although the accent was definitely not English so are they now calling from abroad?
She wanted to visit but when I said we would both be working (maybe not elderly then?) she hung up.
Think I may send a message to Neighbourhood Watch if they are targeting this area.0 -
Can you do 1471 and post the number here? The directors of Powermatic/ More Than Mobility are now involved with a 'home help' type company providing carers in people's home according the the YEP. I am sure the Insolvency Service and the YEP would be interested in hearing if they are back selling wave pads etc to the elderly.0

Tried 1471 straight away but surprisingly it didn't come up! I wonder why? They actually said they were from Leeds in their opening sentence so were trying to be open, but didn't state the company name. Wish I had asked now but didn't realise there had been such an issue until I did a Google search which pointed me to this forum.0
