They do it on webcam with a passport.

Thanks for this usefull info diamonds. When they ask you the reaosn to open Euro account what asnwer did you give to them ??

I am a frequent traveler to Eurozone. I mainly use it for easy access to Euro and/or lock the £/EUR when it is in its peak. If they ask you the reason for opening an account like this what is the best answer, you think ?

They won't ask for a reason and if they do just say that you're a frequent traveller and it makes sense to hold a € account. They don't care in all honesty.

I meant back then, but it carried on that generation and declined until the EU. I love Germans, they are so open minded most them unlike the upper lip Brits.

When you get a unhelpful germans who pretend the englsh îs the only barrier you appreciate indian call centres :rotfl:

They are speaking American, not English, it's the business language of the world which has little to do with the U.K.in the last few decades.

EU has followed on from the Empire with the international language to be english.

    Absolute rubbish.

The US exceeded the uk as the global world power around a century ago, and economic power has increased and decreased respectively at an exponential rate since.

The significant turning point in world language was the seven years war, which confirmed British dominance over the French in North America, the Caribbean and India, and to a lesser extent in the rest if Asia and parts of Africa.

The EU managed to exclude the UK for decades, being based upon a strong Franco German axis.

The legacy of the U.K. Continued through Africa and Asia for a few decades but everyone still speaks American and not English on a worldwide basis. I travelled in India in the early nineties and the change was evident then, older people were still very British English but anyone at that time under 40 spoke with an American inflexion unless they were a maharajah.

We talk of english language, dont twist it to financial markets to try win your point of view in a debate.

The EU foundation is built on the Scot-French alliance of many centuries ago,

No one speaks 'American'. The Americans speak English as do the Scots - a 'accent' variation of english being a mix of gaelic and english and why Scots are not clearly understood by english speakers with strong Scots 'accents'.

Unlike the rest of the international world who have adopted english, for cultural reasons Scotland has protected its native language as not to wipe it out completely.

Both Comdirect and DKB will cater to this, if you are looking at taking out a credit card such as Hilton HHonors and Lufthansa Miles & More then you'll be best off with DKB however while they are accepting international applications once again, it's best to phone ahead in order to not mess with your SCHUFA. It isn't a requirement to hold a DKB account in order to get the credit card but it's easier.

The best bank would be Comdirect however if you're able to transfer 1.200€ monthly to Germany and be in Germany to open the account, Commerzbank is the best of the lot.

SLZ. Did you apply online or using PDF.
The problem with online, it seems they do not accept UK post code, I just tried it a few minutes ago. It said it has to be 5 number and my postcode is XX15 5XX. Any info on this will be very much appreciated.

A SCHUFA file is a great thing to have if one plans on EU purchasing later even if UK based as regardless if UK leave the EU (unlikely) transferring or being assessed on a non Euro based credit verus a EU/€ & UK/£ one is preferential for Euro countries/creditors.

Keep the info up SLZ :)
