Regarding DKB, I tried opening this account from the UK. After entering shed-loads of information the application failed with this message: "Bitte beachten Sie, dass wir nur für Kunden in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz Konten eröffnen."
So this account can only be opened by people living in Germany, Austria or Switzerland.

So we are spending a lot of time discussing this thing where in fact it is not working. Have anyone else actually tried to apply from the UK and get accepted or just talking or thinking ???
Since the beginning I already very much in doubt it will work that is the reason I have not applied before a few people have confirmed that it works.0 -

Edit - actually I now see that you are asking if anyone succeeded.Evolution, not revolution0 -
Yes, I reported (in reply to yourself) the same result as g8nau above when I attempted to open a DKB account in March last year:

I will say that my existing account hasn't been closed with DKB and I'm yet to hear of any changes in that regard.
There's always Soci!t! G!n!rale in France if you pop into their international banking branch likewise Commerzbank will open in person. There are also options in the Netherlands with ABN Amro for example or in Latvia with various international banks.
Finally there's Britline in France, they are in business solely for British customers in France however it should be fine to open an account and most likely to be successful.0 -
Just to update those on the hunt for a Euro account with no fees, Comdirect have recently changed how they do things and there's now a special form (rather than the standard form for all) for international customers with a certain way of doing things. You can find the form here under 'Für Personen, die nicht länger als 183 Tage in Deutschland leben', you want form 'Girokonto'.
You need to send off the application form separately to the notary form, unless you're in Germany and can go to Deutsche Post, you'll need all identity papers notarised.
Comdirect have made it much more difficult however it's still within the realms of possibility to open an account with them. DKB is now out of the question. The easier alternative is Britline based in France who deal with English customers exclusively.0 -
If anyone gets to the end of this and is still looking for a simple euro bank account from a UK bank with no fees have a look at Cater Allen Bank, part of RBS, if you have 5000 euros in the account there are no fees.
