It's my first V-Day with someone in my life since 1998 :o and we're spending it apart. I'm sending him a card, and we'll see each other at the weekend. That's it. Fairly MSe I reckon.

  • We usually buy a card and maybe choccies as I always nag him NOT to buy flowers until the next day (too expensive) but this year the soppy part of him rebelled and has ordered me flowers...............this I know cos I looked at his bank account...........:o and then went up the wall asking why interflora were on there. His response "it's for you, you stupid cow, now you have spoiled the surprise and I ordered them now while I could afford it". Exit one red faced wife!
I got him nice aftershave which smells yummy!

For those of you who are on your own, I am sending virtual hugs and romance. Having been on my own for a long time I used to dread Valentine's day and wonder if it would ever be me............
If you wait for perfect conditions, nothing would ever get done! :T
    I'm not short - I'm condensed awesome! :p

Not sure what we're up to.

He did ask, and we've both agreed we've not got much money, but I'm hoping I get a card at least. I'm gonna pop out and get one tomorrow.

BF's not fantastic on the whole gestures thing, and much like someone else's the stupid little things I do, like writing I love you on the foam in his coffee, goes rather unnoticed..........

But I love him all the same :)

im plannin an anti-valentines day, not because it's commercial or expensive, but because (in my opinion) men aren't worth me bothering about...yes i'm spending valentines with a(nother) broken heart, so i'm going to the pub quiz with my friends and getting steam boating drunk. if it ends up like my last anti-valentines night i'll get picked up by the police at 4am on the beach...that was a fun night! (in case anyone is looking to learn from my experience...do not text your mum from the back of a police car...she will not be impressed :rotfl: even if she did it many years before you did!)

last year when i had an oh we agreed not to make a big deal of v-day, he wasn't in any way romantic and shockingly bad at any form of gesture. i decided to make his fav dinner for him and got dressed up nice so when he came home form work dinner was almost ready (enough time for him to shower etc) with his card and me on the table...he took his over to the sofa, no shower, no card for me and no notice taken of the effort i'd made....he didn't last much longer after that!

i do agree that valentines is very commercialised but i also feel that it's easy to forget to tell someone special that they are special with all the humdrum things that go along with life these days so it's nice ot have one day to make a point of telling them you love them. hopefully one day i'll find someone special who'll want to make a wee deal of me at least one day of the year...for now i'll stick with my last post and get drunk! maybe this year it'll be a hottie policeman that picks me up! ;)

I hope everyone has a good valentines day - if we're competing for the title of singledom, I have NEVER had a boyfriend on or around Valentines Day. sniff, sniff!!

I've been single 5 years!

(so much for an australian hunk sweeping me off my feet!! Actually, not sure I've met any australian hunks, think its an urban legend if I'm honest!!)
