This is a bit of a busy time of year for us, it's v-day, OH's b'day and our anniversary all within 4 days of each other (we met the day after his birthday- perfect MSE timing!). So we tend just to do cards on v-day, have a nice dinner (we even sit at the dinner table!) get a bottle of wine and watch a DVD- Breakfast at Tiffany's this year. Then we celebrate OH's b'day and our anniversary by going out for a meal.Saving for an early retirement!0

Not MSE for me
My (well off) other half has booked a room at the country pub we met up at on a Wednesday evening, so a nice meal and an early night- though I owe him 1/2 cost of the room!
Missed moonpig card offer, so got to go uptown at lunch (getting wet in the process) to get him a card and a little token pressie. But he is the love of my life so I'll forgive him that

DF is the way to go...
Last year my DH wrote me a letter, he's not normally very soppy so it was really nice (and quite long) , bout why he loves me and stuff ,I know your thinking pass the sick bag, but that letter is folded up and tucked in my wallet and means more to me than any present.
I cut out loads of paper hearts and each one wrote something great about him and stuck these all to the bedroom ceiling when he was asleep- it was fun to see him trying to focus on them in the morning without his contacts in!!!Tax 2006 -£1849.20

Will probably leave it to the last minute.

Yes! OH and I have agreed to only get cards this time. February is an expensive month for us - his birthday was just over a week ago, mine is next week and our anniversary is the day before.PigginSkint's debt free diary

nope. nothing.
My OH has a heart of stone when it comes to Valentine's and anniversaries. I hate the commercialism of it all, but I do think it is nice just to make a tiny gesture of some type. I thought about cooking a heart shaped cake for him, but do wonder if it is worth it as the appreciation really won't be there!
Anybody fancy sending me a card, just so I don't feel too woeful???!!!0 -
Cheap Valentine's for me this year.
DH is working till 10pm on Wednesday plus we're saving cash as we have a baby due in April.
We're planning to go out for a meal at the weekend - mainly as a treat for DH as he will have spent the day with my mum decorating the living room, one of the advantages of being pregnant.
We've decided that instead of buying presents for Valentines we'll buy each other something once the baby is born much better reason to celebrate don't you think?Proud to be dealing with my debts

Cheap night for us.
We usually spend the evening at home and have a homecooked meal, but I got a phone call today to say that I had won a competition I'd entered and the prize is 2 tickets to see the West End production of Dirty Dancing on Wednesday evening. We live in London so no real travel costs, and I checked out the prices online and the tickets cost between £27-£59  (and I'm presuming we haven't won the cheapest seats!) so its certainly something we wouldn't have paid full price to see...
I'm really looking forward to it...
