    £819.99 for a box wow
That is not a scam. The seller is actually selling the box and accessories for £19.99 (click on the 1 sold and you will see). They have inflated the price probably because they have run out of stock but don't want the listing to close before they can restock.

Nothing wrong with selling boxes at all, people do want and buy them.

But you do have to make it crystal clear....why not make a tenner from selling a box you don't need anymore.

I spoke to ebay just now. Very helpful and they said the seller is being investigated and that my case will be escalated after 8 days to a senior member of staff due to the high price of the listing paid. She admitted that the listing is very deceptive (as she said to me 'you have a case open for an iPhone 16GB') she fell for it too. She believes i will be refunded and the seller will be banned. But nothing can be done until after the 8 day period is up. Not long now...

I also gave the other item number details where a new member (possibly the same seller) to ebay and she thinks it is the same person again. So she said they will be investigating that listing too.

So some hope there for me, to be refunded and the seller punished!

I really appreciate all the advice and info on here from all. I will keep you updated on the decision by ebay after 24th Jan 12.

    Thanks again

Ha...this one has been bought by a buyer with 0 feedback....anyone on here set up a new account to sabotage the sale...? :D

i believe the seller is doing shill bidding aswell! And then offers as a second chance to other bidders if he/she wins the item. Ebay were serious about this seller and say he/she is being investigated.
  • All of these other examples are clearly just boxes. Is it just me that can see this????

That would be good fun actually. I could give some scammers the right runaround. In regards to this, if I set up a new paypal and ebay account under different details etc. and won a bid on something that was clearly a scam how could I get around not having to pay for it? obviously if it was a clear fraud attempt by the seller, I don't want to actually spend any money.

If it was just sent by first or second class then I am assuming I could simply state that it hadn't arrived? Is it as easy as that? (obviously in this case I would need to pay first but may have a way around that too)

    Could be fun!
