If she couldn't meet him there at 9 because the child goes in earlier I'm sure he would have stayed behind the wheel the for the first 5 minutes (if necessary) and dropped the child off as a first stop.

You physically can't do the walk twice a day, and they are surely aware of this. Your health and fitness should be the priority - firstly because any unselfish person would think this; but secondly because they are going to be completely stuck if you really injure yourself and are unable to look after him at all.If there really isn't an alternative (although I think there is) then they must pay for you to take a taxi.

Good luck. I'm not great at confrontation as I have no middle ground (pathetic pushover, or furious lion) but sometimes there isn't an option.

I's not full time school, it's pre school (think that's what it's called in England? We call it nursery school) so he didn't start till after 12pm
