Convenience
Can take DD out to places ie soft play, zoo or to visit friends
Freedom/independence
Struggled to pay off the finance on it, finally mine now
Handy if get a job outside of where I live
Cons
Expensive to run/maintain
Would save at least £50 pm (tax/petrol/insurance) plus any repairs it may need
Makes me lazy
Would be stuck in town where I live, couldn't go to the zoo or visit relatives (elderley Nan in Poole, abt 40 miles away and DD's Grandma who lives abt 20 miles away and impossible to get to on public transport)
Restricted where I could get a job
Any suggestions welcome x

Remember the holiday I booked pre-LBM? I'd sent a letter to see if was possible to refund my deposit, not thinking for a moment I'd get it back... well today I received a cheque for £25!! Which is half, but it's better than nothing!! Straight into my debt account. Yippee!!!!

Eek... I've spent some money over the w/end!!! Feel quite bad about it, even though it wasn't much really....
I used £14 from my £2 savings to buy my Mum & Dad birthday presents, so at least it wasn't money I had to find from elsewhere. Only got small token gifts anyway so least didn't go over the top!
I can't wait for March to be over so I can finally throw some money at my debts. I'm looking into going back to work PT for 3 days a wk, updating my CV (or rather starting again!!) Hopefully I'll be able to throw more money at them if can get a job.
Hoping for a good week this week without spending any money unless it's budgeted!
Only going to use my car once this week - friday.

Did you ever make a decision on whether to sell your car or not?
I spent £55 at the weekend - on myself! So £14 on your parents seems great It was budgeted but flippin' 'eck ... spending that much money in one go seems horribly extravagent! But it was worth it and I had a fantastic time.
I'm looking forward to the end of March too!

Hiya - no I haven't made a decision yet..... it's my little bit of independence and I'm rather attached to it! I've not used it as much as I have done.
What did you do over the week-end then????

Well so far this week I've not spent much money which is good... apart from my last £4 in £2 coins last nite towards a pizza, bad I know but was a treat!
Went surfing on sunday with BF, my DD and I played on the beach whilst he surfed, was lovely and didn't cost me a penny!!
Still haven't done a proper monthly budget, will do at some point today, but it's been so nice out last couple of days we've been out for walks.
I feel like I'm not getting anywhere as apart from the DC calling every 2 weeks I've not actually paid anything else off yet, but that was due to my car needing so much work
Pretty much decided to look for a PT job, max 3 days pw. But there is so much to look into, nurseries/lone parent advisor/tax credits etc that I feel quite overwhelmed and don't know where to start! I spoke to a lovely nursery yest, but they don't have 3 days pw available so I need to look for another one.
Trying to remain positive but finding it quite hard at the moment.
Plus points - my daughter is loving the warmer weather, we've been having lots of fun and I don't feel so snappy with her anymore as the burden has been shared. I feel dreadful that I've been so down and taking it out on her, she's so beautiful. I won't dwell on this though as I've made great progress in my spending habits at least!!
Natwest = I called them to arrange a payment plan and they had no trace of me?? Couldn't find my account, so I'm going to wait until they contact me!
HSBC = They've instructed another DCA, and they're more human (if this is poss - need to send outgoings/incomings and agree a payment.
That's all for now x

I have an appointment with the lone parent advisor on 29th March to get some figures etc. Got my CV out with 2 agencies so far, just got to wait til something comes up.
Am visiting a childminder next tues, if I can get childcare sorted before I find a job, will go in my favour as it's time-consuming looking for childcare and also want to find the right one. Plus if get offered a job I can start straight away rather than having to wait til I find childcare.
Have agreed with my BF I am going to lead a simple life and save every penny I can, he's on board to help me out by not suggesting nights out/shopping etc.
Had to have my cat put to sleep yesterday which was dreadfully sad, he'd not been eating for few days and lost weight, was expecting him to get better and was shocked when vet suggested kinder to put him to sleep as he had a tumour. Thankfully as I claim HB the PDSA were able to treat him, all they ask for is a donation towards the costs which were £104, so have said will pay some towards it over the next few months. He was a lovely cat and my DD loved him. Sad

I'm a changed person as far as spending is going, I'm so careful and try hard not to spend any!
