    My SOA

    Income

    £645.00 Wages
    £700.00 CTC/WTC
    £ 72.00 Child Benefit
    £408.00 Housing Benefit

    = £1825.00

    Outgoings

    £720.00 Rent
    £444.00 Nursery Fees
    £ 85.00 Council Tax
    £ 40.00 Gas (NPOWER)
    £ 25.00 Elec (NPOWER)
    £ 29.00 Water
    £ 12.00 TV Licence
    £ 30.00 Mobile Phone (400 mins/1000 Texts)
    £ 40.00 Car Insurance *
    £ 60.00 Fuel *
    £ 20.00 Savings for Car Tax/MOT
    £ 8.00 Contact Lens
    £ 20.00 Loan from Council (They paid my deposit at old house)
    £ 30.00 Savings for Birthdays/Xmas
    £100.00 Food
    £100.00 Debt Payment (1 payment, doorstep collector every 2 weeks)

    Leaves £62.00 for clothes/entertainment

    * I've just bought a new car, collecting it 2moro. My BIL works for a garage and this car was taken in part exchange and he was able to get it for the price they bought it at, it's a slightly newer car than mine, same mileage, longer MOT but it's diesel.... so should be more economical to run, BUT the insurance has doubled on it with my exisiting company. I can get it cheaper through work, so may look to do that. I've bought the new car for £700, it could be sold for £1500, so bit of a bargain. I'm hoping to sell my car for £1200, so will have £500 extra to able to pay off the TV which is on BF's c/c. Don't know interest rate but will find out.

    The only debt I have is the HSBC one, plus the loan from the council which was to pay the deposit on the old house, which they've transferred to my new property. I'm not sure of the os balance but I'll find out next week.

    I could do with increasing my income but then I'd get lower tax credits etc which pay for nursery fees, they're £37.00 per day and I work 3 days a week.

    My Mum sometimes gives me £50 in my bank account for some spending money.... which if she does again I'll put into savings towards car costs. Sadly I can't be without my car, there is no way of getting to my work on public transport.

    Well I collected my new car yesterday, and I'm really pleased with it. I filled it up and done 60 miles so far and the fuel gauge hasn't moved!! In my old car it would def have moved, and I'm sure I'll get more miles out of a tankful of fuel. Just gotta sort out the insurance now.

    Ok, my challenge to myself over the next month or so (for now) is to survive on £10 spending money each week for myself, so magazines, treats etc has to come out of that money. I have £30 this week, so £10 for me, £20 for food and anything else needed. I have a full tank of fuel so won't need that for ages (I hope).

    I'm going to meal plan again, so will work out what I've got at home and do a plan to use up what I've got. I don't plan to do any food shopping for another week at least apart from fresh stuff, ie milk/veg.

    I've paid £50 off BF's c/c today, I need to get a balance on there so will await the next statement and update then.

    I've got a few birthdays coming up so need some ideas for cheap gifts.

    * 17th My Auntie
    * 20th My Daughter's God-Mother
    * 25th My BF's sister but we'll go halves on this one

    Looking ahead to Feb

    * 3rd A good female friend of mine
    * 15th My friends little girl 6
    * 27th My friends little boy 3

    Argh..... I keep paying out money and I can't seem to stop!!!! :mad:

    * My old car (Astra) The MOT runs out 23/2 and I've been advised to get it MOT'd before putting up for sale as people would be reluctant to buy a car with a months MOT, so that's going in on Monday, which will cost £45.00 :mad:

    I went to a candle party last night, it was a friend at work who was having it, so of course I felt obliged to buy something (I need to learn to say no!!) so I bought the cheapest thing I could which was £11:eek: .

    And today.... I've already spent £5 on having my eyebrows waxed and £1 on a bottle of water (water at work tastes disgusting).

    So my £10 per week on myself has well and truly gone!!

    I spent £39 on food shopping yesterday also, £5 of this included a game for a present for DD's friend, we're going to his party on the 3rd.

    I've still to get DD's God-mother's b/day present, but I'm going out with Mum 2moro to a local New Forest village for a mooch so hopefully will find something cheap there.

    I got BF's sister an Animal bag half price on Play.com, was £19.99 reduced to £9.99 so that only cost me £5. :D

    I'm going to work out my next few weeks money and come up with a strict budget. I've done a meal plan til end of Jan and bought all the extra bits I needed so other than fresh stuff I won't need to get any food til Feb.

    Oh... just remembered we're out for lunch on Sun, 2 years ago on Sunday my Auntie passed away, last year we went for a walk to a nice pub and had a roast and walked back so we're doing the same this year. Another £10 to find!!

    I'll post the budget shortly.... best do some work now!!

    hi tigz,

    i pick up my new car 2morrow that i've bought of ebay (yikes).

    i hope your fuel gauge isn't faulty:rolleyes: Is it a diesel - that does go a long way - i was hoping to buy one but none came up for sale.

    Whoever told you about the mot for the astra is right - i'd never buy a car without an mot. there's a car on ebay in my town and it only had a month left to run so there's no way i'd buy it - i've ended up buying one 25miles away but the guy's meeting me at the trainstation. The one i've bought has got has got 12mths mot and 6mths tax.

    Hope yours passes its mot with flying colours.
