Making Cards - Ideas (part 6)

  • Instead of inking a stamp you need to use a special glue (flitglu) which stays tacky on a card for around 24 hours. Only a small amount is needed and is put on a sponge first and then used to glue the stamp. Once you've stamped the card the stamp can be washed immediately in water or if left a stamp cleaner is needed.

Using gilding flakes cover the stamped area (the flakes are very static) so using a decent sized plastic container is best. Shake off the excess and using a scoochy (Small square of ''rough'' foam for polishing gilding flake) and circular movements polish the image.

sounds very interesting that flitting, I'd be worried I would mess up my stamps and I am not very good with embossing powder, it goes everywhere, so flakes might not be such a good idea for me,;)

I have a budget for it - funded entirely from things I've sold on FB crafty groups, so it's free money really ;)

If any Edinburgh-based crafters are online, I have a spare ticket for the show as I was meant to be going with a friend and she's ill, so PM me if you want it. Won't be leaving Fresian Towers till half nine anyway.

You won't mess up your stamps, if after you stamp you can wash them straight away in warm water and then go back to the flittering. If the glue has dried you can get a stamp cleaner.

There were eight of us in class yesterday and no problems.

Enjoy the craft fayre FF and spend wisely.

Marg that's shocking! Hope it gets rescheduled shortly and carried out if they'd given you more notice you wouldn't have been worrying

Flyin I promise I will actually blog said card before you get home - my laptop was pinched by DD as it's the only one with a webcam so I had the pleasure of 2 12 year olds talking rubbish all evening and was too embarrassed to shout at her with her friend listening was already paranoid of her catching me on camera in my teddy dressing gown :rotfl::rotfl:

Hubby has gone to watch Ross County play at Morton today with one of his mates so peace and quiet in the house with those 2 not arguing every 5 mins :D

Still waiting for a date for the move but hopefully won't be much longer
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p

Aha, I've seen someone demo flitting - I just didn't know that's what it was called ;)

Padster, my OH is always having skype conversations in the evening talking to work colleagues, they have probably all seen me in my pjs as I've rushed past the sofa he's sitting on :o

Morning all, hope everyone is well.

FF, can I enter my latest card that is on my bloggyfoggy please?

Plan on a crafty day today, DT card due on Thursday and I will be heading up north for hubbys 40th for a few days :)

The latest card on my page is not my usual cutesy style, felt a wee bit out of my comfort zone, but I guess that is good sometimes :)

    Have a good weekend xx
