    hi all,
I'm hoping for some advise on envelopes and am hoping I'm in the right place (if not please point me in the right direction)

I bought a friend a picture that is 15" x 12" so too big for an card backed A4 envelope that would keep it from bending and I can't bring myself to think of the postage on an A3 card backed envelope

So I wondered how I would go about making something? I'm not very good with arts & crafts so please keep it simple for me :)

I haven't made a card for a while as I haven't been too well recently - but to pass the time over the past couple of days I thought I'd make a 'just because' card for a friend who I 'met' years ago, on an internet word game. She's in her 80's and I love her to pieces. We're never likely to meet as she lives in Australia, but I wanted to send her something just to make her smile ... so I made this 'plant pot of flowers' card ....

I made a fold out stand for the back so that it would stand up like a plant pot, and the message to her will be written on a Tag which is hidden inside the pot.

You pull on the ribbons right at the top of the card and the tag slides out ....

(hope I've done the photographs correctly and you can see them).
Remember: however thin you slice something, there are always two sides to everything.

  • Ohh, Thank you, Pater! I felt as though I'd lost my 'mojo' when I sat at my desk to make a card, so I started out thinking I'd make something simple. An easy little 'something or other', I told myself. But once I'd got the idea for the flower pot, I couldn't seem able to stop! (lol).

Mojo very much going, and going strong I'd say! I love it when a projects takes a totally different direction to that which you anticipated! Look forward to seeing more of your makes! My card making has been put on the back burners I try and focus on by wooden bits for Xmas craft fairs x
  • Envelopes I find quite hard to make without assistance!! I have the 'We are Memory Keepers' enveloper board and a Crafters Companion board, the WRMK is for smaller envelopes and the CC one is for larger ones....

    I'd lost this thread :)

Been making lots of little Christmas cards and tags for a friend, she's having a stall at a Christmas fayre to raise money for the hospital that treated her late son. It's been lovely as I only usually make to send and with the cost of postage our card list has dwindled.
I'll put some pics on the blobby later and look forward to finding everyone elses latest makes :)
