Hi peeps :hello:

That's lovely!! My kind of style x0 -
They're lovely cards, pateroo! You'll find yourself soon buried beneath a stash of card making goodies! lolRemember: however thin you slice something, there are always two sides to everything.0

Thanks creator. I have actually indulged in a big shot! I do body shop at home and managed to convince OH that my commission was best spent on one
) PLUS sizzix have a whopping sale on so I treated myself to handful of dies too. I've already got card, ribbons and embellishments coming out of my ears!!! We're off to America next month so I have to think of a way of persuading OH to let me loose in a michaels store!!
) will keep posting my new makes. Love these threads!

Ohh, Pateroo, I'm so envious of your planned trip to the USA - with all their amazing craft stores! I think I'd probably take just three changes of clothes (one to wear, one to wash and one spare) so that I could pack my bag to over-flowing with craft goodies to bring home! Agree with you about the Big Shot. I bought mine a few months ago and am loving it. It's like opening a Christmas present every time I open the boards after they've gone through the machine. Love mine to pieces.
Well, now that I'm not a newbie anymore I can now load a few pictures of things I've made so thought I'd share a few cards that I've made. Hope I've done this correctly and the pictures show: Here goes . . .
These are hand painted (by me) gingerbread faces, painted on to good cardstock tags and then hung on ribbons and attached to a card. Christmas cards:Remember: however thin you slice something, there are always two sides to everything.0 -
They're amazing, especially the tree and butterflies. I really envy people who have the ability and patience to make things so detailed!. Looking forward to seeing more of your makes x0

Aw, thanks Pateroo. The tree and butterflies card was pretty easy (yes honestly), the worst bit was the fiddly cutting out of those tiny butterflies. By the time I'd cut two out I was regretting making them so small.
The worst one to make was the grungy 'Time Flies' card - which was done in a style that I'm not familiar with and it took me F.O.R.E.V.E.R. I don't think I'll be making one of those again anytime soon.
The most enjoyable card to make are those little Gingerbread faces - and they're not at all difficult. You don't have to be a painter to make them. (cross my heart). If anyone wants instructions, complete with photographs of each step, then just say so. I did a photograph instruction thing and emailed it to a friend (who lives across the pond) and I still have the photographs stored on my old PC somewhere, so I can easily dig those out.
*(You don't have to stop at making those for cards either. I made wooden ornaments for the Christmas Tree, in different shapes -all with those little ginger faces on them - a few years ago, which I'm still using, year after year, and they get lots of compliments too).
If anyone wants instructions for those please just say. I'm not one of those folks who won't share. I'm more than happy to share ideas and 'how I did it' things!Remember: however thin you slice something, there are always two sides to everything.0 -
Hi, I'm so pleased that I've found the crafting board. You all make such lovely cards.
I've made some cards in the past but they were quite basic.
I'm currently in hospital and have decided to start card making again. I want to try stamping and colouring the images with copics or pro markers. I've seen the kind of cards that I'd like to make but I don't really know how to go about making them. Does anyone have any advice on stamping/colouring e.t.c-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

Woohoo! I'm normal! Gotta go tell the cat.0 -
Yes, use a permanent ink to stamp with or it will bleed when you colour it, something like Stayzon or Adirondac (sp) would do the trick!!
Or how about taking advantage of the many digital stamps free to use on the internet? Really quick to download one and copy it across your page a few times, then colour in different colour ways or effects!!0 -
I've always thought that a printed image would bleed too?! Does the printer make it possible to colour without bleeding (I.e. laser/inkjet), or the markers?0
-
If you're colouring with solvent-based markers such as Promarkers you need to use a water-based ink for stamping. Stazon is solvent-based so will blend with the promarkers causing the bleeding. Memento inks are good but any water-based ink should work fine. If you are watercolouring however Stazon or any other solvent-based ink will be fine.
As mentioned above you do need to use a good quality paper/card that is designed for use with solvent markers.Use your stuff challenge 50/500
